She looked to the hares and quickly crouched down, "Yes, yes." Visni murmers softly. Watching them, beginning to slowly stalk forward. She wouldn't get too close until Boans took the lead, she'd let him grab one first and chase one down for herself. Bushy tail flicking wildly behind her, ears set forward. Hunger caused her stomach to ache, making these hares all the more valued. She stalked forward a little more, giving in to such temptations.
They felt close, but new they were still far away from being in her jaws. Well, not for long atleast.

Boans began to slowly stalk the hares, one in particular. It seemed to be a pregnant female hare that would feed him, if not her for a day or two at least. She looked weak, tired to say the least since she was carrying a few young ones inside of her swollen belly. As he padded forward, one of his large paws broke a twig in half, causing a frenzy with the hare family. "Fuck, Visni. There they go." he said, as he scrambled to his paws and began running after them frantically. His legs had never carried him faster, for he was hunting only for Visni and his pups now, forgetting about himself just in case she did not catch any. Determined, he darted around the brush they had began to try to escape in and cut off the pregnant female hare... Success. His large paw came crashing down upon the female, preventing her from going any further as he approached her and wrapped his jaws around her neck and snapped down killing her instantly. Blood began to stain his muzzle as her fluids leaked out of her wounds. Wrapped in his frenzy, he had only hoped Visni had gotten herself a kill as well before they had all vanished.

Luckily, Visni was lanky, proving her breed's skill in agility. She ran low to the ground, racing after one of the scrawny hares. A lean male, a bit older than most of them with grey flecking his chin. Claws dug into the ground, pushing her off and closer to the hare who just seemed out of reach. Then, there seemed a small slip up as the hare tripped over something and struggled to regain it's form. It was too late, the female snapped it up, feeling as it flailed around for it's life. Visni only clenched her jaws tighter, jerking her head slightly, the once panicked body had gone limp.
The female felt a bit of pride, holding up the hare and looking to Boans. Her muzzle was not as bloodied, but the blood was seeping to her nose and down to her paws. Wandering over to Boans, Visni dropped the meal next to Boans and quickly looked around. She had thought she'd smelt something in the air, but the scent of the hare's blood made it difficult to smell anything but. Looking to Boans, she awaited to see if he'd smelt something, growing anxious about what was close by.

Tris is running happily, her belly is not fully distended, but the marks are there now, something is growing. She's pouncing though, and trying to catch Nebula's tail, but does not try hard and never steps upon her friend. It's refreshing, and lovely to hear someone's sight is like hers. This land is beautiful, clear and untouched by something vicious and foul. Life is grand in it's vast circles. Hers has been nice. Poor Tris...this news will stagger her badly, but she will not have the time to grieve, she is a leader, and a leader she will have to be.
She's upwind of Sevarious and does not catch his scent, but sees him and slows "Ah, Nebula, this is an old friend ahead, Sev, he's the son of one of the founders." she smiles at the feline "As mine shall be too, founders children. They are no better than others, but it's like a milestone." she chuckles a little, to her it's something nice. She is the youngest of the original ten, and the last in succession to bare offspring. It's been four years since Cross Roads was born, but four years is a lot.

Sev's eyes snap to the faint image of Tris and Nebula. A whine escapes his muzzle, lowering his head, the male slowly wanders towards her. Quietly, he is unsure how to tell her, maybe he shouldn't. No, that would be wrong, she would notice, she would know. Hesitantly, Sev continued, letting out a whine every so often as if walking was hurting him in some way. His tail attempts to wag, for Sev is happy to see her, he really is.
Finally, he's standing a few feet away from Tris. A pained smile crawling to his features, "Tris!" he greets with mixed emotions. His eyes telling of a pain but his voice telling of a happiness. Sev would wait for her to settle in a bit to his presence before he tell her and shatters her world.
------
Another bout of childish laughter fills the air as Tris and her play and walk. Looking to where Tris spoke of, eyes fixate upon the male who's closing in on them. Nebula had to admit, she was intimidated, not expecting wolves bigger than Tris. Nevertheless, she stays awful close to Tris and gives a smile. Although, this male does not seem terribly happy at first.
Being slightly put off by such a demeanor, Nebula bites her tongue, not allowing questions to flow. She'd let Tris greet him first, maybe he was always like this? Nebula wasn't sure, it must be awful to be sad all the time. Perhaps Tris and her would cheer him up, he had been alone after all. Nebula nodded, Sev must need good company.

"Sev?" something seems wrong, but she is not sure why. It's the Alpha instinct that catches little details, despite this though, he seems happy to see her. Perhaps it was a bad hunt is all. "Sivarious" she sighs a relief and looks at Nebula "As I have been away to the far south boarder I've met a new friend! This is Nebula, and she hails from over the mountains!" The Alpha had stepped forward and placed her head across the younger wolf's shoulders best she could in form of a hug.
"Nebula, this is Sev, as I said he's one of the Second generation, I was nearby when he was born, excited to see such wonderful life as he's grown to be here!" she laughs, a couple years older than he but just as young acting, and smaller. Oh Alpha Tris...
She regards him with hope in her eyes, asking the question that this poor wolf is tasked to answer "Sev, have you seen Aethon? he was due home today, or even late yesterday? Ignis was showing him something in the South East, I've got such wonderful news." She sits back and waves her tail over the brittle grass, the breeze blowing in behind her makes the fine outter hairs of her coat blow like a nimbus silhouette.

He nuzzles her for a moment before looking away. Sev doesn't know how to break the news, all he can do is take in shaky inhales. The male doesn't want to hurt his alpha, but she needs to know. Raising his head, Sev rubs his face into her neck again, finally he backs up to look her in the eye. "Somethings have happened..." His voice trails off, allowing her to take in the words for a moment before continuing.
"Aethon and Ignis- they never came back." There is obvious sorrow in each word spoken, he shouldn't have told her. Whincing, Sev braced himself for telling her about Niz. Looking away, this time, Sevarious cannot look his alpha in the eye. "N-Niz passed away recently as well." He chokes on the words, then looks to Tris. "I- I'm so sorry." The stuttered words are the strongest ones spoken. For he is truly sorry, for the great losses.
----
Nebula stands there, listening as Sev spoke such horrid things. She does not know who these wolves are, but she knows it will impact Tris. Especially Aethon, for Tris had already spoken of the male. The feline holds her head down, quietly contemplating what she should do to help the canine. Although she would stay close, Nebula would not reach out to hug Tris quite yet. For perhaps the wolf would want a bit of space at the moment.
"I'm sorry, Tris." Nebula whispers, her words carried off by the slight breeze. Her shoulders drop and the big cat sits down beside her friend. Ready to take action in helping the wolf deal with whatever emotions might suddenly bubble to the surface. Bad things should never happen to good wolves.

((Did I happen to mention anywhere, profile or otherwise that one of Tris's (either Tris) greatest fears is abandonment?)) 'the never came back' those first words left her feeling naked and cold. Stripped of fur and muscle, cold to her very bones. they never came back... she can't shoot the messenger, it's not his fault. As the second wave comes she only stares blankly at him almost as though not comprehending his words though they were clearly enough spoken and with such regret. She tilts forward a little and shudders violently, her pupils dilate slowly, then become noticeably large. There is a pain in her gut then and she starts to pant heavily, still staring towards Sev, but not actually seeing him. She rocks forward, almost to the point of falling on her face but never leaving the ground. Rocking...like the broken and insane rock, the fearful and rock bottom swing. This is bottom to her... She'd met Aethon and came to like him in his short time there, then took him as a mate. In the back of her head she'd had a slight fear that perhaps he would abandon her, that she was not good enough...not for any of this...any of them. But they had mated, and she was with pups, then he'd gone to check something. Ignis... IGNISThe one word brought her from this five minute rocking unresponsive mode, burned behind her retinas, goading her. Her dilated eyes flicks up first, then she straitens up and her shoulders are tense, though she's still panting heavily she does not look far away anymore. She looks angry, and betrayed. A roil comes from her throat something like a ticking growl and she shuts her mouth a moment finally now she speaks and her voice is deadpan calm. "Sevarious, thank you." It takes a moment longer then she is standing again, her eyes still burning and wide, her world is rocked and the entirety of this crashes over her shoulders. She stumbles over into Nebula, but does not fall. The scent of the cat reminds her and her brain kicks back into gear. She is an Alpha, she must overcome. A bit of color returns to her voice, it's not to flat anymore "I'm sorry Nebula, friend, I did not expect this." her voice was a crackled whisper, even though she'd not yelled or caused anything for a hoarse voice...it was there. she licks her lips and swallows spittle to clear her throat and takes one deep breath slowly in, held, slowly out. When she speaks again her voice is calm, not dead, but still very quiet. "I am sorry both of you, for that...I...I was not expecting such news and-" she chokes on her words...then continues "-and I need to address our pack. Sev report to me what you do know." her voice is growing, and the power behind her status is showing as she requests answers, and while not unkind for this pain, she is standing up like she should. Her period of mourning is over as fast as it began, at least in the packs eye. She will seek to be where others can only come by invitation for a while, to hold her grief, but first and foremost she is the sole Alpha now, and needs to address her pack, and help them through the loss before her own. The needs of the others before her own. Things like this can be damaging...if not watched. Aethon and Ignis...they never came back...

The scent of fall filled the male wolf's nostrils. His pelt, gold and brown flowed with the cold breeze that indicated of winter's coming. His black maw raised into the air at the feeling of the breeze, and he closed his amber eyes. The male wolf, a hunter by the name of Typhoon, felt at peace in this calming time. He had followed a rabbit down this way, but completely forgot about the rodent at the breeze.
The breeze went away, carrying itself down through the trees. Opening his eyes, Typhoon lowered his black maw back down to a parallel position to the ground. His maroon chest was relaxed as was ever other muscle in his body. Leaves slowly fell upon his head, making the hunter's black tipped ears twitch. Typhoon inhaled the autumn air once more, but smelt different scents this time. It was familiar, and he was glad at that. But then there was an unfamiliar scent and the golden brown wolf's ears were flattened against his head. IT was more of annoyance then aggression though. Perhaps he should go investigate? Yes. Typhoon lifted one of his black legs and slowly began to walk towards the two scents.
The scent of the alpha and the stranger grew stronger as he grew closer. A small yip escaped his black maw, letting know Tris that he was present. Approaching the wolves, the hunter stared at Tris with his amber eyes and bowed his head in respect. The male wolf spoke little, so there was nothing said.

Boans' deep brown eyes looked up at Visni's as the mother hare lay lifeless in his jaws as blood ran down to the ground from the hare's neck. Pregnant creatures always bleed more, hence the bloody massacre he's created. The large gray male reaches over and takes the smaller hare from Visni and nudges the mother towards her, for it was more to eat for her. "You need this more than I, please... take it?" he said with pleading eyes. He knew she almost couldn't say no. Boans nuzzled up to her as he let out a small groan of pleasure as he remembered how he loved her so. Each time he lay eyes on her his heart flutters.

Visni gives a slight whine, but accepts the rabbit all the same. Listening to the noises he makes, there is a quiet want to laugh, but she does not. Her nose twitches at sudden scents that seem faintly familiar, but foreign at the same time. The canine lowers herself slightly, picking up the mother hare, who still bleeds even after much blood loss. There is a slight pang of guilt, this mother and her children, not yet born. It seems as though, Visni feels a connection with the mother, who had just wanted to escape death.
But without this mother, Visni's own unborn offspring might not live. It was an unfair circle of life, there was a slight fear, perhaps she too would be in the jaws of a monster. Unborn children protected only by layers of muscle, skin, and fur. Wishing only, that their mother had ran, just a bit faster. It seems the canine's eyes had gotten a bit clouded from those thoughts. Quickly, Visni tries to shake the haunting thoughts away. Food is food, she repeats to herself. Mother or not, the wolf must think about her own before worrying about anothers. To rid herself of the quiet pain she's caused, Visni rubs her face into Boans' fur. "Thank you." Is stifled, but still present as she speaks the words. Sliding her muzzle from his neck to gently pressing her nose underneath his chin, all actions are out of affection, silent but nevertheless, affection.

Boans realized what he had done as he spotted her eying the pregnant hare that continued bleeding as she dug into it. "Visni, love. I am so sorry..." he said as he nuzzled her lightly. He felt terrible for feeding his pregnant mate, with a pregnant hare. He too, knew it was the circle of life, but he should have thought before acting upon impulses. His ears sunk to his skull as the scent of Tris, and a few other wolves entered his nasal cavities. "Vis," he said, "Let's eat and venture, I smell the Alpha of this area. I'd like to introduce you to her. She too, is carrying." he said as he dug his muzzle into the weaker hare and began snapping the tender insides out of he hare and allowing them to slide down his throat whole. He kept an eye on Visni, awaiting her signal to leave their current destination.

A deathly silence overcame the area. A cold, lonesome breeze whispered by a blue figure. The figure, a wolf, was sad and lonely. Her head hung low as did her tail. The she-wolf would care less as to what happened to her. The blue wolf's face was soaked with tears, her eyes filled with betrayal and wrath. /He said he would never leave me....never..../ The female sat down and howled a long song of sadness. It even called for any animals that wished to kill her. But no, the female did have something to live for. Revenge. Her scent lingered on to any wolves in this given area.

Sev bows his head, "I'm so sorry." He murmers again, his tail has dropped and whole demeanor one of remorse. What has he done? He's wrecked a life, dear, dear Sev. The male leans forward to once more nuzzle the red wolf. Whatever way he could comfort her, he would try. Eyes then flicker to the hunter, who stood silently. There is a slight need to growl, how dare he suddenly come without so much as a greeting. No, Sev would remain quiet. The male sits beside Tris, staring at his own paws. Deep in thought, yet still aware of his surroundings all at once. He worries about Tris and her well being, but it appears she's regrouped for now. A howl attacks his ears, causing him to whince.
It seems another female, has lost a love, somewhere out in the hills. Part of him yearns to call back, but no, he does not. Instead, he will stand beside his long time friend, possibly his best one. "Whatever you need to know, I'll tell you." Sev murmers softly, closing his eyes and trying to gain his composure.
---
Nebula watches Tris spiral and then all at once come back from the brink. If she could whine, then by damn she would. But the big cat could only watch in silent worry, "T-Tris?" She stammers, pressing her head under the wolf's chin. Although most would try and give the canine space, Nebula was not one of those creatures- or a canine at all. It was strange, how they could go from frolicking to free falling through life's worst situations.
"It's going to be okay." The creature tries to assure her, taking a glance at the male who stood silent. He made her uneasy, as Nebula shifted her paws and looked at the ground. The big cat was very much out of her element and it showed greatly in the way she held herself. Holding her head low, yet still trying to comfort Tris. A howl also rang in her ears, haunting her thoughts and causing the cat to shiver. Nebula is being to grow terribly anxious, continuing to fidget and look around at the different wolves nervously.

Typhoon eventually decide to speak up during the awkward silence. He made eye contact and saw the sadness in her eyes. Typhoon was not a social member of the pack, so the brown male did not know what was bothering the alpha. He walked up to her and rest his head on her shoulder in more of a hug movement. He had no words to say after loking into her eyes, but only felt her sadness as well. He backed away, giving her space once more. The other wolf's cry made Typhoon's ear turn towards the sound.
Darcy ended her howl, her eyes filling with tears once more. The scent of other wolves came upon her leathery nostrils, and she decided to follow it. The blue she-wolf did not know why, but it was just an impulse. Step after step leaves crunched under her massive white paws. Her tail, drooped down as with her head, twitched slightly at the tip. The scent of the other wolves grew stronger, and she braced herself.
