Having circled over the area ahead, she had been watching for sometime. Sharp, golden eyes focused below her. Letting a loud screech the medium sized bird landed on a high branch and watched the wolf and other two birds. Skysong was a rather beautiful colored bird, being a falcon she was and odd sight here.
The young bird had gotten bored at the owl she had been bothering for sometime, he was awake only at night and was no fun when he was awake. Thought the forest creatures were right Brightwing was a very wise old owl..
Curious as to what the eagle, raven and wolf were doing she flew to a lower branch. "Good day feather friends" She squaked "hello stranger fuzzy face" she cooed at the wolf in amusement. Giving her wings a quick flap Skysong tilted her head "What odd friends you have" she chirped looking at Greed this time.

The raven carefully accepted the feather, admiring the beautiful hue in the cool dawn light. She rarely let a wolf so close, especially within the valley, but she allowed the proximity briefly enough to accept the gift. "My thanks, Wolf Knight. One can only hope that others of its ilk have learned a lesson at this one's demise... but as undoubtedly these two Winged Hunters know," and she cocked her head towards both hawks, "The songbirds have too much a liking of trying to drive the aerial hunters away, and oft for good reason."
"As for you, Knight who Treads the Snow, are you not a bit further downslope than your kind does usually travel? Or do my ears mistake the pretty words of one who knows the Peaks?"

"Songbirds are of no good, they are annoying and think they are better then us" Skysong fluffed up slightly. Letting out a squeaky exhale she smoothed her feathers once more and nibbled an itch under her right wing. After doing so she shook herself once more fluffing up and scratching on itch just above her left eye.
The falcon looked curiously at the raven then at the wolf "Night bird has a point" she squaked "Fuzzy face is far from where he should be nesting" nodding slightly towards the Shatter then the mountains that faced their backs.

His sharp eyes flick from predator bird to the bird his kind follow almost like gods and he nods "I am far down, but is for needs. I am the eyes that spy and the ears that catch. It is needed, and it is so." a perverse pleasure creeps into his voice as he continues on "Your kin shall feed so very well."
He cocks his head up and looks upon the other feathers. A Falcon, a mountain bird, they take residence there. How would it know though of his filth, his kind...he was a filthy one working for his redemption.

Greed nodded, feeling a bit more comfortable to fly lower, almost next to the wolf. "Greed is I. I am Greed. A deadly sin, of you heard of?"He was speaking in a riddle tone, though he was not speaking a riddle. He brought his yellow eyes to that of the raven's. "Do not fret Wise one, Greed does not scavenge. Greed believes in catching his own food for himself."

"Feed?" Skysong chirped with amusement "Well I think I can hunt well on my own, but thank you fuzzy face" The bird nodded politely. "Unless you are talking to midnight bird" she glanced at Raven when she said this. She knew that the night sky colored bird could hunt but also could be known to take food they find. She found nothing wrong with eating food that you find but Skysong prefered eating fresher meat..

The raven seemed to shrug, though her dark eyes were still on the wolf. "The larger prey the land-bound hunt have generally left these hills," she said carefully, gauging the wolf's reaction. "Since the fire ravaged the forests to the south. The pack here grows, both in strangers and in womb; too many mouths to feed, perhaps, as winter's grip wraps the valley."

"Winter will kill those who are too weak, so maybe the pack will learn that they must be careful" Skysong glanced at Raven though she had the feeling that the black bird wouldn't look back at her. Stretching her wings she pressed them against her body again, head tilted still curiously watching the wolf.

It was at Skysong's words in particular that the emerald eyed one laughed, his jaws opening wide and showing his pearly white teeth and his tail wagged. They clamp shut quickly as an insane light dances there behind his eyes lending them a fevered light. "Ah, but Winter shall break them, break them all should we have our way!" he bursts into laughter again at his own joke.
"Should you not mind the flesh of wolves, oh birds of hunger, prey and storm. For Winter will be fierce this year, it's teeth of ice, it's coat of snow shall fall hard and thick and be lasting. Winter shall ride long." His words are two toned, for the signs of the seasons show that Winter will indeed be a hard one for these Valley animals.

Cocking her head again, the raven watched the wolf for a long moment as he laughed, then returned her attention to the jay's feather as she thought. "The balance will always tip back and forth, for that is the way of the world. Tip too far, and death will meet those who thought themselves strong... granting their prey a chance to regain their own hold upon the land."
She looked now to Greed and Skysong, dipping her beak in greeting. "That counts for both wolf and deer, and the grasses that are grazed... and the prey we all seek to fill our gizzards, no?"

Once again Skysong fluffed up and looked at the wolf oddly "Well then maybe the other fuzzy faces should live else where?" she asked simply tilting her head "Or you should at least, you don't snap at Skysong's tail when she rests on a low branch" seeming to have a more delighted tone then her first statement. Making a slight chirp noise she flapped her wings as a sparrow flew over her head awfully close "Rude red chest!" she screeched angrily flapping her wings madly.

Shatter Glass snorts, agitated with this Skysong "Clip Feather, how about you respect those who can eat you?" Before he's finished his words he jumps, since it's strait up and he's going from a stopped position it's not as high as he can leap, but still decent. His long muzzle and bright teeth clamp down upon feathers, just as Skysong had said about her tail, so it was. Shatter would have gotten the very ends of them, so they are jagged and no longer strait, perhaps causing trouble for flight, but not downing her.
"I am Shatter Glass, call me so." he snorts angrily and continues "I shall be a lord of this place, We shall not fail. As the winter is hard so are we those soft wolves you see are not as tempered." his emerald eyes flicker and flash dangerously and his tail snaps, but he sits again. "I pardon your stupidity." he closes his eyes and looks away, spying silent Greed with interest.

Greed only observed the commotion in front of him. He was not so silent most of the time, but usually ranted. Noticing that the male wolf named Shatter Glass was staring at him, Greed stared back in curiosity. "IS there something that the wolf wishes to ask Greed? He would not mine answering, unless the question regards something of no importance." Greed could here flapping in the distance. It sounded of a small, scavenger bird. Closely related to ravens, the wing beats of a magpie could be heard. Ruffling his feathers, the raptor clanked his beak many times. "The arrogant magpie of Pride approaches."
The sound of the fight between raven and jay attracted the scavenger bird made of pride, for he was Pride itself. His tinted green feather shone brightly, reflective that they were. Pride was curious as to if there was food he could scavenge, for that was how he survived. He knew all you lurked around where he was headed, for the magpie could read the shadows. Greed was upon these few, and Pride did not like the selfish bird. Stumbling onto a branch, the magpie watched the animals with awe. "Greetings to thee! I be Pride! But don't expect me to talk as oddly as Greed and Wrath."

"The smell of blood draws from all around," the raven murmured, chuckling to herself. The remains of the jay still lay upon the rocky earth, wings spread at the wolf's feet; she doubted the wolf would let the smaller bird make off with any morsel he wanted, be it as gift or for himself. "I suppose the ill-fated deer in the forested hills below has already been picked clean?"

Skysong screeched loudly when Shatter grabbed at her tail "Bad!" she hissed fluffing up slightly and stomping her feet on the branch. "Well.. Shatter.." The words slipped off her tongue like poison "No need, rud behavior is not that of a good leader" she spat flying up to a higher branch and glaring at the magpie as it approached. "Look other scavenger bird has appeared" she laughed slightly and glared down at Shatter once more. She couldn't help but want to continue to call him fuzzy face or even rude wolf. But instead she shook her head and glanced at the magpie "Well then, what is Pride doing here?" she asked calmly, head tilted to the side.
