Copy Cat
Felis Mimisi-cat imitation
Appearance: Small –about five feet high at tallest, their basic shape is that of a human being. The distinction between male and female is hard to tell at first glance, as mammary glands are not as obtrusive, and appearance is the same.
All Copy Cats have skin patterns like large cats (tiger, jaguar, panther, ect.) but have short hair. A fine down of hair covers the entire body, being longer at the tail, head, ears, elbows, and genital area. Short whiskers adorn the face from the upper corners of the mouth and ring around the bottom of the human-like petite nose. Two to four larger whiskers protrude from the eyebrows.
Their eyes are large and are Yellow or Green with cat like pupils. They have large sensitive ears that tend to have a rounded point edged in black unless the feline they resemble is all black, and then the ear rims are white. Their tails are stiffer and wave like a dog’s does with long sweeping hair that is strait and silky.
Their arms and legs are the same length so that they can walk like a Biped or a Quadruped. No matter which way they chose to walk, their movements are fluid and rather quick.
Their face structure is more pointed though human, and they seem at first more like an animal, which their behavior suggests.
Copy Cats have a high metabolism and as such never gain much weight, even while pregnant. The average weight is 86 pounds both male and female.
Aging: Copy cats cat get to be up to 40 years old if well cared for and loved. Wild ones live until about 30.
Behavior/personality: No matter the age of a Copy Cat, they act rather young and naive like a child. They all have rather bright and inquisitive personalities and like to ask questions and poke their nose into things. In almost an ADD behavior, their mood does not stay sad for long unless they are hurt. Depending on what the object or person was that hurt them their reaction may be different. They could come to either hate and despise the object or simply not care.
They are more optimistic though, and even in a bad situation look to other things and see good stuff. Their motto is ‘if it does not kill me then I can play with it.’
An ill behavior would be their touching. They are quite physical little things and love to touch and explore stuff. Often they will pick things up without thinking about it and put it in their mouth to see if it tastes all right. They will not eat it unless it is food, but they like to know what it tastes of to get an idea of who owned it, or if they can have it.
Some have a more ferreting nature and will try to pick up things and stick them in their pockets much like a Kinder *if you know what that is* though not as stealthy, they will of course bite it first to see if it’s ok.
Copy Cats, both male and female do not like to wear much in the way of clothes. Females will wear bangles on their forearms, or long, fingerless gloves, but not both. They all wear very lose shorts almost like Cargos, but with more pockets.
Sexually they will try anything once, but if it is, hurts them in a way they do not like they will try to get away. A Copy Cat seldom tries to run away unless it is abused enough that that is all that it thinks about and that takes some terrible abuse to do.
Diet: Omnivorous, However, they prefer fish and sweet berries. Mulberry is found to be a common favorite treat among Copy Cats. Testing shows that while they will eat anything they shy more from things that are bitter and strong.
Skill: The Copy Cat is named for its ability to copy any voice it hears, and understand language. When it comes in contact with a new voice sound without thinking it will take on the sound, though they talk like that to please people they have an innate ability to guess what the names of the people are whom they’ve copied. It has been thought that through taking on the sound of the voice the Copy Cat takes a touch of the person into their nature. Older Copy Cats have better control of this then younger ones do and can almost ‘turn off’ the ability, though it creeps up from time to time.
The older ones who have been trained can be used as a translator, if told they will repeat what they hear in whatever tongue is near them. They have been proven as effective tools and are often taken abroad by diplomats. If taught to read, which takes years of work, and is still feeble they can read basic signs and possibly restaurant menus.
Origin: Found in deep jungles they were easily caught and sold as ‘smart pets.’ Their nature leads some to be released to fend for themselves due to their normally chatty and needy nature. While they look similar to a human they are not, and do not share that intelligence. Their copying ability seems a safe guard, trying to pacify a possible danger into thinking it is one of them. They have capacity to learn reading, but it’s small, and often, if taught it is the only other task they can perform well. It seems that in order to understand the written language it ‘gives up’ some understanding of other skills it may have learned.
