He could not contain it...it was too much....and it all happened so fast. Unintentionally the pup lashed at Onisapher's leg and merely brought his maw into the air and howled. During this process the pup's full body changed. his maw grew both long and stubby, his teeth razor sharp and carry long. His ears now narrow, long and pointed, his claws black, sharp, and curled, his front legs long and back legs short. His eyes, almost pure black. The orange hair that was once on Derby was now a deep shade of brown, tipped with black, It was thick and long, showing no skin on what was once a normal young pup.
ooc:// Happy now? -_-

Orca had looked back in mild irritation at the pup as he noisily bumbled his way to the lake; he'd narrowly run into her legs but come up short, grunting and moaning in a strange way. Perhaps it was diseased. Her ears flicked back as she watched him; perhaps it would die soon and save the pack the trouble of caring for it. She'd smelt blood in its mouth.
She looked unconcerned as Onisapher rushed over and carried the pup away. If anything, she was grateful to have it removed, as it was no more than a distraction to her. A diseased pup not even of the pack's blood.
She shook herself out when they were alone again, as though shaking herself of a fly. "Shall we hunt?"

ooc || Drac, I'd appreciate a message next time. No need to rub it in or to announce that like you did. Thanks for the info, but its not something that need be announced... made me feel diminished and kind of small. Sorry.
Onisapher grew angry that Derby had lashed out at him as he now bled a bit from his hind leg. He looked the once small pup, now a somewhat corrupt wolf square in the eye before snapping back, then speaking to him harshly. "Kid, don't forget I'm older than you... Corrupt or not. Try that shit again, and I'll hurt you." he said snapping his fangs viciously at Derby before he rose to leave him by his lonesome so he could rejoin the pack. He was still the Miseo and would always be the Miseo if Derby did not follow direction like he had promised. He had just disobeyed greatly and Onisapher was not happy. He was not sure about his younger kin anymore, for he had changed into a wolf he did not like, nor appreciated. He was a mentor to Derby not more than a few hours ago and now he was a rude wolf that simply lashed out at him whenever he wished to just because he had blood thirsty thoughts in his head? Not in his lifetime... and last he checked, Derby was supposed to be apart of the pack... not one that was against it. Leaving these thoughts behind, he caught Orca speaking of a hunt which he was very interested in. "A hunt? Sounds excellent." he said as drool splattered from his muzzle onto the ground as he gave an apologetic look to Orca, then to Dust for Derby's actions.

ooc: Ah, settle, both of you (whether angry or not) It is a misunderstanding as I see it. The corruption to which Sully seems to project for Onisapher is based around his corruption as a humanoid test subject, so, it's character wise he's dealing with what he knows and understands of Derby's words and his own experiences. Now, in turn what Sully has said about addressing such things privately (which now I am at force of hand to address publicly) is true. If there is a problem with character behavior address it first between yourselves in the Pack Howls via privet conversation, or through PM. ~~~~~~~~~~ Alas, the loud noises, and huge shifting movement caused by the pair have sent the geese nearby to panic, which makes the rest of the flock take wing and fly across the wide expanse of water more towards the center. The lake itself, being a good 420 miles. Fortunate enough for the hunters the depth is only about seven feet at most for a good twenty miles in, which is what the geese prefer. Lucky hunters...this year, the water is receded some, due to a hot summer, so some bushes have cropped up where the water washes low. Still though, towards the center the drop is staggering, reaching about 3.79 miles. Fine species live in the bottom of our lake, some though, you hope never to wake. Little islands of varied sizes, the largest reaches about 1.5 miles across dot here and there. Those in the shallow edges of the lake are mostly pushed up sand and soil from the waves and storms and have no vegetation aside from sparse brittle grass which the visiting avian feed upon. The edges of the flock that had been stirred up honk and hiss and fly a bit further into the lake. Hunting will be harder for this, unless they settle enough to come back towards land...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nero reaches at last the lake, having taken his time, watched his Alpha heading forward, watched the new Beta female with interest. He's not sure what to make of her now since this little step forward to their Alpha. He'd thought her rather a bit like himself. He hides along the tree line and frowns at the stirring that happens, aware this may make things harder for the day. They may not be the brightest birds, geese, but they still know who hunts and who needs meat to live. He lays in a shadow under some tall bushes, letting the sunlight dapple his back in warm patches. It feels lovely to be able to hunt as a pack, even if Dust can be a demanding Alpha. It's better off in some ways. Perhaps he should vie for Beta Male. Though, it was the choice of Orca naturally, since she was of some wayward power now. He thinks of Solstice though, and despite knowing her for the matter of three days, he feels a slight hand of guilt at considering positions. He shakes his head, now why would he feel that? his ears flick back and he watches now the rest of his pack gathering, and looks for the Guardians who should be rising soon to greet them. He has an interest in Solstice, she fascinates him in a few ways, bothers him in others. "That addle brain" he says softly to the leaves of the bush, and quirks his mouth in a half grin. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tris had gone at a steady pace, angry with her pack for it's disorganization. She has only herself to blame though, she does not blame Aethon, but wishes she could. It's her fault, for being so soft and kind hearted, for taking in those who tread all paths. Look at them... She does not, since many may not have followed anyway. She is distracted, but continues to look at those with her, and gives them reassuring smiles and nods. Her trot slows as she hears geese though, and hears them take a panicked lift off. She assumed that Shadow Hive would have gotten their first, they often do, and choose a choice place to plant themselves, since the lake is mutual territory. She draws shy of stepping onto the open space of shore as she gets in view, and stands in the trees, watching from across the open space, about fifty yards is one of the Shadow Hive. She has to keep care not to growl and bare her teeth at them, to back away. She holds herself proud, belly swollen. She'll not let Dust harm her pride, not let that boiling vipers nest of a wolf pack see that she is shaken and recovering slowly. So, she masks her vexation with impatience for her whole pack to be here. The whole thing lends an aggressive look to her, since she's battling feelings. "Whisper, my little love, stay by me, and rest, sleep if you can, or simply relax. So much has become of you these few days. Despite the trouble, I believe your birth mother would be proud of you as I am." She nudges said young wolf, her tail thumping the ground a few times. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Set had come along, following after his petite Alpha, unsure of her unrest. His more gracious and big hearted leader to whom he gives his body and soul to protect with his homeland. He followed his lovely Lune, blinded in one eye, but brave of heart and playful of mind. His beautiful lady Lunaria, so bright as her name sake. His hangs his head and trots along, keeping an eye on both. His joining company is odd, but he likes that kind of thing. It's who they are, they are Cross Roads, and accept everyone.

What was once a pup was now a full grown corrupt wolf. He loomed over Onisapher, drool dripping from his maw. His body may have changed...but his mind was still his own. his near-black pupils stared from Onisapher to Orca then to Dust. He was not against the pack...he would never be. Derby would never betray them for the lust of blood....no, he would serve the pack. He was eager, though, to hunt and kill. Perhaps he needed no training from Onisapher now, for his height and new found strength could assist him greatly.

Lhucky, being a once single father knew how to deal with moving around a lot. Though his... mate? Lover? Mother of his Pup? ...Raissa, was nearby he always made sure Sweeny was at least 10 feet away from him. The gray male entered the lake's territory bold, and confident. He had nothing to lose, well.... he had everything to lose but he would never show this. He was mortified, but what's a father to do? Show his fear? Deep brown gaze shifted to his kin, Sweeny as his tail began to wag. "Stay close to me or Momma, Sweeny." he said, knowing well that he was growing up to be a young adult. --- Sweeny was right behind his Poppa and hopefully near his Momma too, but he'd take what he could get since Raissa was always doing things elsewhere. The natural lighting of the forest illuminated upon Sweeny's deep brown pelt as his mahogany gaze shifted to each wolf in the area. He was not afraid, more like curious. Being so young, he hadn't seen many wolves before, especially since it was not that long ago that Raissa had found him alone by the stream. "Momma? Who are these creatures?" he asked, hoping she was near him... and had the answer. ---- Boans led the way, knowing that Visni was close behind. Entering the territory, he eyed Tris first to let her know he was present. Although, being a loyal wolf he had to go and announce himself to her. "Tris." he said in a low tone of voice, just greeting her with a name was good for him since she knew he was there for her as well as the carrying Visni. Boans still hoped that Tris would find a friend in Visni... but he would never push it. With that, he planted himself near Tris but not close so she'd feel uncomfortable. "Visni, love. How are you feeling?" he said, looking back only hoping she was there. If she was not, he'd not rest til she was found. ----

A male well known in the forest to some, and unknown to others pads confidently toward the gathering packs at the lake he visited often with his mate. Blurs of gray pass through the forest as he nears, wind rustling his fur as his chestnut brown eyes focus forward. The scent of a certain female Alpha enters his leathery nostrils as his paws hit the ground methodically, confident in his actions. Rigby is his name, and he's in search for the female who's in charge of these parts since he's from not too far from the lake. Nearing them, he spots several wolves and various other creatures as the then spots Tris. The female whom he had picked up the scent of. Catching her eye, he dips his muzzle toward her in respect as he pads directly toward her stopping short as he begins to speak, ""Greetings. I am Rigby. It's a pleasure, truly." he said, knowing she'd be a bit confused. Though, Rigby is a male who's strong, yet gentle... he can only hope that she does not bite his head off, or that she does not reject his presence since they had met a while back in travels. He and his mate, Zuri grew fond of this wolf... but it was a bit back so he was not absolutely positive that she'd remember. Now, thinking of his lovely mate... where had she gone to? He'd hoped that his beauty of a wolf had not gotten far since he missed her while she was still near.

Honey brown eyes glanced about wearily as the slender wolf made her way through the shadows of the forest. She was careful not to draw attention to herself from anyone since she knew that two large packs neighbored each other.
Zuri had heard many things about each pack from other wolves who had happened to pass through the territories during their own travels. She heard of the Shadow Hive, a pack of which that mainly consisted of dark hearted wolves, cruel with their ways. The other pack, the Cross roads pack was said to be more level headed then the Shadow Hive.
Quivering at the thought of meeting any of the Shadow Hive members, Zuri pressed on silently. She was tracking her mates scent. Although Riby and Zuri had traveled here together, they had somehow became separated along the way. Deep down she was hoping that Rigby has already found their old friend Tris. Pushing through the brush her honey eyes finally rested upon a strong standing Grey wolf and a female. "Rigby," she said quietly to herself as she padded forward quickly. Her tail was down as her posture was submissive as she approached, showing Tris she meant no harm. Smiling warmly at Tris she hoped desperately that Tris remembered them.

At first, Tris bristles with alarm and anger, the feeling feeding into those near her as her bottle green eyes flicker in harsh fire, her size grown with her on end fur. She is going to snap vicious words, cutting words, but instead stares at him suspiciously. His words confuse her, but his name...Who is this?
She looks to her pack mates who may have stepped forward "It is ok, friends, I feel..." she looks puzzled again and lapses into the silence. Her stance, as she's taken her feet again, is still aggressive, but hesitant as well. "Do I...Sorry" her eyes sharpen, Tris, as Rigby and even Zuri for a very short time, her known her, is much changed. Her belly swollen, herself taller even, more grown. An Alpha even! Tris is still Tris, but grown in many ways. "Do I know you? Rigby." As she says his name she jumps a little, as though jolted "Rigby..." tasting the name now, trying, trying to recall a fuzzy image. Would be be able to help recover it? At least she's not called attack on him, sure as the Guardians are watching her, attacking invaders would be justified.

Boans watched as this male approached his carrying Alpha as he began to snarl as he called him off as she attempted to figure out who this male and female was that had intruded, and invaded her space. Something was not right, but he did not fret for he seemed to be a strong male. He worried not, but still kept an eye on them just in case. ---- Rigby turned his head a bit only to hear his love behind him as she then came up beside him as Tris grew confused. He started to worry that she did not recognize them, but he knew deep inside that she did. His tail wagged lightly as he inhaled deeply as he looked at her kindly. "It's Rigby, and my mate Zuri. You met us a while back in our journeys before you... began carrying and such." he said, nodding his head politely at her hoping she'd calm herself a bit before she grew upset. "We liked you a great deal, and hoped you'd enjoy us visiting you." he said, smiling at Tris respectfully, tail still wagging.

A small bird flitted into the area. His feather were all black up to the tip of his tail, which was a vibrant white. He clicked his dusty brown beak as his dark brown eyes gazed at the wolves that had gathered in the area before him. This bird wasn't just ANY bird, he was a prestigious guardian. He was a keeper of balance and truth, and his mission for now was to watch over these wolves, and to make sure a war did not ignite in the coming months of what could be great suffering. This guardian was known by many as Erro, or the full title of Erro de Veritas.
With another semi-impatient click of his beak Erro ruffled his feathers and waited for his backup before they could begin the meeting they called around this time. This particular land was new to him, normally another took this spot, but Erro was requested specifically due to a rumor that a wolf of particular interest was in the area. This particular wolf was in their service, and had gone missing after a certain tragedy. So here he was, waiting and watching, his first legit assignment of peacekeeping.

She stares all the harder at them, trying to see what she had when she was younger, wearing rose colored glasses, so to speak. Her eyes narrow into two sharp green slits, and her ears, while not flat to her head are turned back. "I think I...I think I do." At these words the Alpha relaxes a little, and seems to accept them being there enough to not hurt them or allow anyone else to hurt them. Her attention strays to the little bird that came down. He was new to her, normally they had the same guardian pair each year. She looked at him, and bowed her head down a moment, in greeting and acknowledgment. She turns and licks along Whisper's back, as though to say she still knows her little love is there with her, and that she won't let her be hurt. She watches the last of her pack settling in around to listen, and await the second guardian to come forward, and start the uneasy truce between the pack hunting times. Her sharp green eyes picking out just over the river from them a few of the Shadow Hive beasts, wolves all. She wished Niz were with her, there was time yet, perhaps Fetter would allow him to rise and come this far. As those in her belly stirred, so too did her heart. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Raissa's keen mahogany eyes flicker around, over everything, watchful and wary not just for herself anymore, but for her little Sweeny, and through him her impromptu mate. It was not that she felt distrustful of him, or believed him incompetent, it was just her way. It shows in her stance, in the general air she gives off that she is watchful and ever a little dangerous to those who come forward to easily, if she does not know them. Lhucky best be quick to step forward in that case. Her ears flick a bit further forward, then back to normal at Sweeny's question and she drops back from where she was to be right next to him, and looks where he is looking. "Those are the other pack that live in this Valley my Son, and you must be careful of them. Shadow Hive is their name, and they are generations old, much older than Cross Roads, and they are ambitious. At this time of year, both our pack and theirs gather to hunt the geese there." She points at the hissing, honking, flapping masses out on the water. She did not see Dust there amid the fringes of her pack, would that she did she would make sure that Sweeny knew and understood that he must avoid her. Raissa knew nothing more of the pack, or she would point out the miseo too. "I want you to stay with Tris love, because hunting geese can be hard and dangerous-" she swallows, as thought having a bit of trouble saying something "-while your Poppa and I hunt, you can learn from not just us, but from all the wolves here, maybe even Tris can help you." She did not have a hard time in telling in saying Poppa, she adapted all kinds of names and words, it was the close together working that sent her at a shudder. She'd yet to hunt with Lhucky, and was not sure how they may work together. Though she is part of the pack, and hunts with them when called forward, she is use to working alone, or as a second. Breast to breast will be like new again, after all this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shatter Glass slipped through the trees by the lake edge here eyes always upon Monroe, he wished much that his little red wolf love was on the other side of the lake. There he saw Tris, talking with some wolves, and others too, scattered around the edges, awaiting the words. He sat in an open patch so Monroe may find him.

Dust had not taken her gaze off of the assembling abominations across the lake. There is obvious resentment, pacing back and forth like a caged animal. Perhaps, Dust is truly caged in some ways? One can never be sure. Her shoulderblades shoot upwards from her thick pelt with each careful step. A scowl upon her features, eyes setting upon Tris for only a moment, lingering. Bygones will never be bygones.
Finally, Derby has ripped her attention away from Cross Roads. A snarl tore cleanly through her throat, eyes narrowed in bitterness. She doesn't seem surprised with his shift, not even in the slightest. Eyes then snap to Onisapher, for Derby is his responsiblity. Glancing to Orca, she'd give her beta female a small, simple nod of acknowledgement.
Her pacing as ceased, eyeing a goose that strayed close by. Dust restrained herself, not to touch the geese quite yet. It would be a group effort, something that must happen at the same time. "This is the time, where we gather food for the Winter," She spoke over her shoulder, her back turned to her pack. "I hope you aren't all fools- but that is a small pebble of hope." A chuckle is rolled off the tongue. "Geese should be no problem for you lot."
This might just be- perhaps a compliment? It is, although her cold tone twists it to sound just as insulting as her usual phrases. Bushy tail flicking and twitching in it's usual manner, the canine is growing more and more anxious.

Long legs carried Visni smoothly over the terrain as she had followed close beside Boans. Taking to laying beside him, on the other side of Tris, just to keep out of the way. Her large, rounded ears perked up as she listened to the words around her drift through the air. "Anxious." She whispered to Boans, as if not wishing to let the other wolves know how she felt.
In reality, she didn't. The maned wolf didn't want to appear more weak than she already was, this was just hunting after all... With some of the deadliest wolves she'd heard of. But- no, no buts. Visni bitterly chided herself for the peaceful manner she'd been brought up in. Politeness and words, bitter fueds solved with the elders who often brought up quick solutions. A sigh escaped her muzzle, with little thought she'd laid her head at Boans' paws. Staring at the grass, little bugs weaving through it like their own forest.
----
The cougar sat at the base of the tree, he'd gotten tied up with talking to other creatures about happenings. But of course, he was here now and perhaps this was all that mattered. The massive creature looked around, keen eyes picking out the alpha of Shadow Hive with ease. "Oh Isis, m'dear, are you ready?" He asked, looking up into the branches at the beautiful form that was his Isis.
At the mere sight of her, his tail flicked and twitched, skimming over the grass. One of his usual grins sprawls across the feline's features. "You're looking awful gorgeous today." He croons, laughing slightly at his own foolishness. Of course, Kohen would have said one of his stupid pick up lines, but his mind was on geese for the time being.
----
Unlike the other wolves, Nebula was all too happy to place herself right beside Tris. Watching the geese with great curiosity, the creature's large eyes took in the sight of all who approached. When some of the geese made atrocious noises, Nebula almost whinced a little. "Well, they're unpleasant creatures." She commented, looking at Tris and giving a slight laugh.
Nebula, judging birds, how wonderful. The ever loving cat gently rubbed her face against Tris' shoulder, as if a small reminder that she is here. "Shadow Hive- they won't touch us, correct?" It would seem odd, for Nebula to refer to herself within the pack. The oblivious big cat hadn't taken notice of Rigby, brows raised at Tris' reaction to him.
Ahh, they knew one another, no cause for concern. At Tris' snarl, the big cat had quickly scrambled to her massive paws. It appeared a mere false alarm, wonderful. Seating herself once more, Nebula silently watched Shadow Hive with a wary gaze.

Lune was there all along...she just felt no need to interrupt or talk to any of the other wolves. She kept her blind side to Tris and the others while her good eye was on the forest behind her. She was more worried about what lurked in it...bears perhaps. Pulling her only good ear back, Lune leaned against set, flicking her tail over his. --------------------------------
Typhoon was farthest away from the other wolves. He was not accustomed to so many in one place. The stress was overwhelming to the brown and black male. His amber eyes dashed to all of the wolves. He wondered how they think of him...do they think he is a coward? A loner? Or maybe just a plain weirdo...perhaps he would never know. A sigh escaped his black maw and he continued to just watch the wolves converse.
--------------------------------
He knew he was in bad shape....he knew that after his fight with Blast he was lucky to even survive. But how could he just sit down and attempt to get better when an important event such as this was going on? He was the beta male....he had to make an example. He has to stay strong, no matter what. Niz, his black pelt no longer smothered in blood, limped toward Tris. He attempted to hide the limp, but it was hard and took much effort. his devilish green eyes dashed to Lune and Set, then to Typhoon. Niz raised his head up to show he was of high rank...to show he was not a weakling. Coming up to Tris the black wolf bowed his head in respect and awaited her word.
