Wrath was not expecting to Derby to change as of now. He believed it would be later....but it seems the change wanted to come earlier. His attention drew back to Dust and he hissed in her ear. "Thisssss one isss tired of waiting. Thissss one wonderssss when the hunt will begin." His black tongue flicked out constantly, hitting Dust's ear every couple times. Sometimes he wondered why he hung out with wolves....it was odd should one think about it. He should be trying to kill this beasts rather than joining them. The serpent's mind rattled as these thoughts drove around in his mind.
--------------------------
Envy was growing restless as well. He was growing bored and would leave soon if this "hunt" did not begin. Why were they waiting so long, and for who? He was tempted to ask the alpha but decided against it. The tip of his leathery tail swished around in boredom. He wanted to bite something....and soon. The monitor lizard became lost in his own thoughts...wondering when he would get to rip the throats out of geese....or when he could meet the crossroad wolves. Would he envy them? Maybe...for they live perfect lives in many eyes.
--------------------------
Hakurou was filled with adrenaline more than boredom such as Envy and Wrath. He could not wait to make those hideous birds known as geese suffer. He was also eager to see these Cross Road wolves. What would they be like? Are the savage and strong, or are they petty and weak? Growing restless he shuffled brown paws reputedly, clawing at the ground than switching his weight to another foot.
--------------------------------
Derby stared at his brother, wondering what he could possibly be thinking of him. Did he think Derby as a freak? Does he want nothing to do with him now that he's changed? Whatever it was, the corrupt wolf wanted to hear something from Onisapher. "Brother say something....you're making me feel...out of place." A sudden itch overcame Derby and he scratched it vigorously.

Rigby sighed a sigh of relief, for the Alpha they had once known had come to her senses about them - or at least pretended to know whom they were. Zuri and him were safe and sound again, though they were without the pack as well seeing as they too, were an Alpha pair. Not telling anyone else but Tris obviously, Rigby made silent acknowledgments to those who made eye contact with him. A small grin appeared upon his muzzle as he nuzzled his mate, Zuri and stood his ground until Tris said otherwise. --------- Lhucky grinned at Raissa as his heart pounded hard against his chest cavity as his tail stopped wagging as she spoke softly to their son about the Shadow Hive. It was a sour talk since they was nothing to love about any of those creatures... big or small. Although he understood they were family like the Cross Roads, they were not anything special and they too, had weaknesses. He came up to Raissa's left side and nuzzled her gently as he then backed off. He knew that he could not push his luck too hard with her but he had to show her his love in any form he could. ------ Sweeny lowered his body to the ground as his ears sunk to either side of his skull for he was now, afraid. These wolves did not look friendly, and the words his Momma spoke to him were ones he'd rather not hear. Though he was growing and had to deal with his pack's enemy's eventually, he knew it'd be a good idea to stick with the Alpha. The pup slinked over towards the pregnant female, tail hung low and in complete submission as a small "S'cuse me, Tris?" came out of his muzzle as his brown eyes looked upward at the female. ------ Boans' tail wagged rapidly as he noticed his love coming into view, as she looked tired yet somehow aglow. It made him the happiest wolf alive to know that his pups were growing inside of her. His seed made a family that was unborn... Now shaking this thought from his head he nuzzled her lovingly to comfort her after she had uttered her innermost feeling... Anxious. This was not good for her since she was pregnant so he did all he could to calm her. "It'll be alright my love. Deep breathing... I will protect you." he whispered to her as he leaned his large muzzle upon her dainty skull. --------- Monroe's heart beat rapidly as he continued through the forest alone as he smelled the most pungent smell he'd ever came across. //The Shadow Hive.// he said, thinking back about what his dear lover had announced one time to him about these disgusting creatures... although he was one. Monroe became shaky and unsure of himself until he saw his lover in the distance. Tall and lean... there was not mistake that this was his Shatter Glass... his Asa. "My love." he whispered aloud, hoping his mate would catch his tone before coming any closer. Monroe gently assumed that the Shadow Hive hated gays like Brakish and Durza did when they met. ------- Isis watched the other creatures, big and small gather as one in front of her.. yet not one soul noticed her. This, was a good thing. She wanted nothing to do with them until her protector came along. Though, he was not present as of yet. This worried Isis a bit... for she refused to come down unless Kohen was there. Gently guiding herself to a forced sleep, she heard a familiar tone in her lobe... it was Kohen! Oh, how she missed him so. Gracefully, she jumped down in front of him and nuzzled him as she leaned inward a bit while he confessed his thoughts about her beauty to her. "Oh, Kohen. You've grown more charming since I saw you last." she said, caramel eyes staring into his as she nearly melted. ----- Onisapher looked back at Derby as he groaned a bit from an unknown feeling he can't seem to shake. "Kid," he started, "You're not one of us. I'm a freak in a way that others can still see through. You're... Corrupt. I'm a little afraid that you don't know what you're workin' with with this new body you've grown into." he said, approaching his younger kin in a respectful way... for he could still kick Derby's ass... if not physically, emotionally. "Don't assume you've got the goods and you can use it at any old time. You're dangerous now." he said, taking a look at the other wolves for a moment before drool spattered upon Derby's paw. "Just stick with me, and do me a favor... if you need something just ask me. I don't think the other pack members are loving you right now. Sorry, kid." he said giving a soft sort of look to him to let him know it'd be alright.

The pup nodded his head at Onisapher. "I understand...." The pup was full of pain. He would never be normal again...the only upside is that the shadow hive might appreciate him more and the fact that his brother will still stick with him. Derby admired his brother. He was strong and loyal to Shadow hive, fierce and proud. Derby may have wanted the Miseo rank desperately, but he felt as if his brother deserved it more...at the moment. This was the upside to being Onisapher's brother, for Oni would train Derby so one day, he could be just as good as the Miseo. First thing was first though....the corrupt wolf would need some getting used to his new body.

Onisapher could see the disappointment in Derby's eyes as he spoke, but it had to be said since he'd find out the hard way otherwise. "Kid, it's alright. Just keep your head up here... once they see the true Jr. Miseo in you they'll love you. Until then... just be you. You're a bit freaky though..." he said, stark yellow eyes examining this large male that once was borderline pipsqueak to him. Onisapher was always used to towering over the others by far, so having Derby there was a little much for him.

OOC- to carry us forward, I am writing a reply for my brother's guardian. I'd given him time to write and he did not, so, plot continue! IC- The second guardian fell to earth from high on the winds. He lived at the edges of the Valley and watched those who came and went. He, Alvar, was a native of the area, and while not well known to any of the other species his face was a familiar one. His old partner whom he'd followed in guardianship had taught him the way of dealing with the rival packs in Breakridge. Though young, he is not pompous. As an adept, learning, he proved to be calm headed in the face of viciousness. He knew of the threats to come, but even then was silent, it was not his place to speak of things that show favor of either side. His nature is to be gray in the world of black and white. The gray speckles along his dark back and wings show as he lands in a space where most would see him, and bows, wings wide, calling out in a voice that sounds much like desert sand blowing over stones "Another year of life has passed us, and death comes 'round again, so some will give their lives, as we give thanks for their pain." This was the words of thanks for a big hunt, which was going to be here. He waited for the responses appropriate, before he continued. Formality dictated that the pact be recited, and renewed by the pack Alphas. "Lady Tris, Alpha Female of the Cross Roads." As a guardian, he knew of the schism of the pack, and the loss of it's Alpha Male and Beta Female, however, in turn of event the Beta male was not present. Law stated two must come forward. "Alpha Tris, bring forward with you a trusted to reseal the pact." He turned his dark face and liquid black eyes to where the Shadow hive was restlessly waiting. "Alpha Dust, of the Shadow Hive and your Miseo, if a new one was appointed." For this was such a new event he was not yet aware of the choosing, if it had happened. Once the Alphas and their male sides come forward he stood all of his 22 inches tall he waited for his companion, someone he'd not before met, to come forward as second witness of the Guard. "It was formed years ago between the packs of Cross Roads of Breakridge Valley and Shadow Hive of Breakridge Valley that during the dying of the year when the geese fly low, and rest upon the glacier lake animosity shall be set aside as there will be peace during the gathering. That time has come again. Cross Roads, Repeat after Me. "By the Pact set down by those before me, by my life as Cross Roads Alpha I renew again the truce of hunters, as we are not bound by the laws of Man." Her selected would voice 'by my life as Cross Roads Guard.' Dust and the Miseo would voice as 'by my Life as Shadow Hive Alpha and Shadow Hive Miseo.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tris had sat, waiting, and listening. The beginning of the hunt was formal with the guardians. It was their way to make it more than what it was, she guessed. The road runner that came down from the sky was one she did know from before, it was the young one who'd begun last year. He'd grown a lot from that time, barely a fledgling, she thought him before, now he looked strong and proud. She wished that Nebula could come forward with her, but this was something only one male and one female were able to do. She looked at the wolves around her, at the menagerie "Typhoon, come with me to make this pact, I trust you." She chose him to help continue the tradition, but this was not her choosing of mate. She was not ready yet, still, for such a thing. Forward now she held herself in a dominant Alpha pose, she repeated what was spoken to her loud enough to be heard amid the others of either side. Dust, as Alpha Female of the Shadow Hive would be asked second, then the males respectively. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alvar bobbed his head to the wolves "The pact between the packs is renewed, on charge of death do you now stand, for grievances given from one to the other. Let the Hunting Begin!" With a sweep of speckled black wings he takes again to the air away from the carnivores, let then do as they will now. Him and the other Road Runner are watchers. To the other he spoke now "Greetings brother, you are new to this territory, I am sorry for speaking the rights, but I know them from before for this instance. "

Erro ruffled his feathers while he watched what he assumed was the ceremony. His eyes watched each wolf carefully, making a mental note on all their appearances, should anything come up. When Alvar addressed him, Erro simply nodded and smiled " It is no problem, It is probably better that you did so." He looked Alvar over carefully judging him casually. " Anything extra I Should know about this area?" he added on while shifting slightly in his place. Erro didn't care much about talking to the wolves, unless talked to. No particular reason, he just wasn't much of a talker.

The beaky bird landed on a tall rock and watched the wolves for a while, picking out which belong to which pack. Even though they were different individuals all there seemed different qualities that made them one or the other. "Shadow Hive, run by the Alpha Dust currently is the older pack in this Valley, and they are aggressive. Much of the Pact of Truce between the packs is because of their more malicious nature. They are not evil, and abide the law, but know how to bend it at the angle before breaking, some of them anyway." He picks out Tris sitting off to the side, her belly swollen. "Cross Roads is new, somewhat invasive to this space, and only a generation old. They are perhaps a little to accepting, but I won't begrudge their kindness. It's fairly quiet, which is more to say than some places are." He clicks his large black beak and home in an eye on a particularly large Shadow Hive, but settles, seeing him behaved.

Onisapher paid close attention as the news was being told about what was happening and where, but most importantly... with who. The Cross Roads came first as he watched the vile goody-two-shoes Alpha stepped up as she called her second in command since the Beta was not present. "Fools." he said under his breath... too quiet for any other to hear him other than perhaps the monster that had become Derby. His ears perked forward as he listened in on the rest, fully expecting his name to be called since he was the Miseo... the weapon. His cage like fangs surrounding his jaws dribbled with drool as Dust's name was brought up next as well as the word 'Miseo'. He looked at the announcer and arose to begin padded forward to his rightful place where he was supposed to be. His stark yellow gaze landed on Dust's frame as he awaited her arrival to begin the hunt and to round up the pack as one. Now, he knew that he was not the Alpha but he was the scariest wolf there aside from his younger kin, Derby and if he had to use Derby's looks against him he would. Silently he awaited, staying on his best behavior.

Buck had been gone for so long, lost and confused outside of the pack borders. He had been hunting, foolishly, unfortunately, and he had gotten hurt. A blow to the head was all it had caused to drain his memory. Somehow he had found his way home, a large scar over his right eye the only evidence of his injury. He had obviously missed so much, and the rest had been lost from his memory. He could tell he belonged here, though, and as he had wandered the lands, the memories of the pack slowly returned, but were very vague and fuzzy. He approached slowly, spotting a few wolves, but keeping his posture alert and careful. He wasn't sure if he'd be welcome here or not. He stopped several feet from the area, his eyes scanning over the scene. He wasn't quite sure what to do, and eventually he decided to wait, to see if he would be attacked or accepted. There were only two possibilities, right?

Tris backed away from the hunt to let her wolves go She bid them go, hunt, play, live. She herself, belly swollen slips back to sit by her sleeping pup. "My family..." in the mix and busy clutter of wolves, cats, geese, and fresh loam new comers were not noticed at first and Bucks presence was missed. As it settled she felt the prickles of being looked at and turns here and there, ears swiveling further to catch a sound. Her eyes win first. He looks familiar and she can't place a name first off, he looks tired, a little frayed even. Standing, tail high waving in a friendly yet uncertain manner she steps a little closer "I...know you." Her posture continues to be a wary friendly, as she comes closer. His scent is faintly of the pack, he's been gone a while. He was one who was friendly, but not always social, strong...something has taken some of his strength.
"Buck, right?" She thinks this is his name, strong like a young buck was her association of his name. "Come, drink, sit...please?" she cocks her head a little, looking polite and concerned for him. This kind of distraction, and the hunt keep her mind busy, she can't mourn her losses.

Buck's head lowered as Tris spotted him. He watched her approach, wagging his tail nervously. He could remember her vaguely, she was in some position of power. He lowered his posture respectfully, but as she spoke, he relaxed slightly. "Yes, my name is Buck. I'm sorry that I do not remember yours. I had an accident. My memory isn't what it used to be." He said, dipping his head apologetically as he followed her. He wasn't sure what she expected, or who she was, exactly, but he knew he recognized her. He made sure to be respectful, but somehow he still managed to keep a powerful and proud posture. It was simply his way, he meant no disrespect by it. He watched her carefully, obviously uncomfortable and still a little confused. He hoped his memories would come back to him eventually, but for now, he remembered barely anything. Just vague faces and scents.

Tris does not mind that he'd forgotten, she pardoned this, and part of her was thankful, and welcomed it. "Tris, I was being groomed for Alpha Female." is all she said in the matter, she'd bother to say she was Alphess later if he didn't catch the words as being past tense.
"It's the very cusp of winter now" she starts to say as she sits once more by the sleeping Whisper. Her bottle green eyes flick everywhere, not staying with her conversation. She's watching her pack. "I only very little remember you, but you left an impression to be recalled. You said you had an accident?" She sees the scar, still fresh looking, over his right eye properly now, her own eyes widen in shock, brick red ears flicking back for a moment. Quickly, they are up again, twitching just slightly here or there. "That is an awful looking scar..." She'd leaned forward some, as though to touch her nose to the puckered pink flesh, but did not stretch her nose out to him It may still be tender, and she'd not want to agitate the old wound.

Buck nodded in appreciation as she stated her name. He picked up on the fact that she was Alpha female, and he sat down, curling his tail around his paws. Then she mentioned his accident and spotted his scar. He nodded slowly, closing his eyes as he tried to remember. The whole event was rather blurry now. When he opened his eyes, he frowned. "It was foggy that night, I think. I wandered too far towards the pack borders and got lost. I hadn't been here too long, and I still didn't know the entire territory perfectly. Somehow I must have ended up outside of the borders." He said, looking down and shaking his head, struggling to remember. "I remember trying to hunt. I don't know why I chose a bull moose, but he had been the only prey I'd come upon in days. The battle ended in the bull's favor, and well, I was unconscious for who knows how long. I think it had been days. I woke up and I couldn't remember anything. I'm not even sure how I made it back here." He said, looking back up at her, still a bit confused about how he had managed to find the pack lands once again. He felt like he had been away for years, and yet here he was, back home. It probably hadn't been years, but it was still a long time, and he seemed to have missed so much.

Tris listens, nodding once and a while. He'd been gone a long time, he was missing before she was Alpha. They assumed he had drifted off as he'd drifted in, quiet, light on his feet. To see him here now, it was startling, and started even to make Tris giddy now, thinking about it She'd liked Buck when she was younger because he was strong and quiet. Now seeing him she felt not pity but a shared exhaustion. 'he's still lost, he said so himself. she thinks, then speaks again at length.
"Things have changed this time you have been gone. However, we are still Cross Roads, and if you want to stay with us still, at least until you remember things better, you are welcome back." Her tone is soft, but firm like an Alpha should have. Inside she wondered perhaps as he did, what brought him back here, was is chance he wandered back into this territory. A few frightened angry geese flew overhead. They would settle back again after the wolves stop hunting for the day, but many of their company would not take wing again this night.

Buck listened to her, smiling gratefully. Thank you. I want to stay, not because I have nowhere else to go, which I don't, but because it feels like home. I'm not sure why." He said, looking around. Then his stomach decided to growl. He sighed, shaking his head and laying down. It was clear that he was exhausted, and even through his wandering around the lands, he had been to confused to hunt successfully. He sighed, resting his head on his paws gently, holding back a yawn and wincing as his stomach complained. This season was the worst, always hard to hunt, especially if you can't seem to remember anything. He looked up at Tris, wagging his tail slightly. He could tell that she saw how lost and confused he really was. He had no idea what was happening, and he knew he wasn't a part of it.
