POWERS:
Necromancy: Lucia can bring souls back to the world of the living and control them using a variety of different musical notes typically sounded through the use of one of the 9 bells.
Costs: In order to bring back a soul she must first descend down the River Styx till she has reached the same level of the spirit. This leaves her body unoccupied and helpless while she makes the difficult trip back up the river.
Limits: The more powerful the soul the more powerful the undead, but the harder it is to break and bend to her will. Even the most powerful can not cross running water, and the weaker ones can not even stand rain. Direct sunlight weakens the undead and with enough exposer can drive their souls back into the River Styx.
Immortality: Death has promised Lucia never to come for her so it is impossible for her soul to flow all the way down the river and die permanently. She no longer ages and her vital organs serve no purpose.
Costs: Her body does not heal not can be healed. Any wound inflicted on her she must suffer from till she abandons her body in search of a new one. Meaning if you cut off her head she would still be alive but would have no control over her body.
Limits: While she can not flow down it completely, the river styx pulls constantly at Lucia’s soul and can drag back into it if she is weak.
Transformation (Seal): Her mothers blood gives Lucia the power to take one a seal from when ever she puts on a special cloak.
Costs: She must have the cloak on to transform and the cloak can not be replaced.
Limits: it only works for Lucia, and only for a max of two hours.
ABILITIES : By necessity Lucia is very good with most musical instruments and has a nice singing voice. She would also like to fancy herself a clever cat bugler, but her skills there are mediocre at best.
PERSONALITY: Lucia loves nothing more than forcing people to react to her one way or another. For the most part she does not truly care what they think as long as she forces a reaction. It could be said truthfully that she is an attention whore. Her actions tend to be flashy and frivolous , though often not well thought out or planned. Rarely does this take into account danger to herself or others. She tends to get ideas stuck in her head will not let them go. The only thing that comes close to her first love is her love of pure chance and chaos, so it is little wonder that she loves gambling as much as she does.
HISTORY: Her father is a elf, proud and obsessed with his heritage , and was nose deep in the dark arts of necromancy at a very young age, much like his father before him. Lucia’s mother was a Selkie living in the fresh water rivers with no interest in the outside world. Why an elf, as proud as Lucian would ever lust after so spirit of the water is a riddle who’s answer is know only to him. May there was a promise of power, or more forbidden knowledge or some perverted form of love. Regardless Lucian had captured his wife and held her has his lover for as long as he was able. She bore him one child, though died shortly after. A base understanding of Lucian would have indicated he would killed the child, but again something stayed his head and he raised her.
Lucia, the name he gave his daughter, grew up in a dark a twisted home. Death was common place, and by five she had already begun her own steps down the path of necromancy. It was driven more out of a desire to please her father, but the subject did hold a morbid interest for her. As she got older her desire to please turned into rebellion. This was not to say she became any sense of the word moral, but adopted new vices, namely gambling, and theft.
It was her interest in gambling that put her in the most interesting predicament. She actually won a bet against Death and gained immortality. Though it may yet prove to be a curse rather than a gift.
River Styx: the river contains 9 gates that a soul must pass through before it can be reused. The water of the river purifies and washes away the memories of the souls in it, though it is possible for the strong willed to fight it. It is also possible fight against the current and reenter life, though the beings that do so never truly come back to life, only a half state. The river has guardians (servants of Death) patrolling it to keep souls from doing just that. The final gate can only be crossed with the assistance of Death itself.
