She'd watched silently, biding her time. It seemed the situation was rising from simple banter to vicious threats and reckless insults. Amused about the abused, Dust continued to watch, staring down Caprus and then shifting her gaze to Blast. Studying the multi-colored male, the tags in his ear, the vicious air about him. It seemed as though he was ready to leapt out of his skin to get at Caprus' soft throat where life was contained. "Leave the fox, Blast." Dust snapped finally, Fetter was still a toy for the female. Her gaze then rose to the heavens where a raven circled above them, like some sort of God.
Dust recognized the raven, she was the eldest one, and useful. Her gaze lingered for a moment more, finally her attention rounded back to Caprus. Ears perking straight up, staring down at him with the worst of intentions. "Hold your tongue, pup- or I'll take it out myself." Dust's usual attacks were all mental, due to her lack of size. No, she left the fighting to Blast or one of the larger wolves, but even she had the advantage of height and weight. Due to her own light weight, the female was sure footed and Caprus would be a a fast paced target.
Her mind ran with millions of thoughts, calculating the cruel demise of Caprus. It all ended with the raven above, who would get the meal. "Stand down, last chance, you half-minded mutt." The words were taunting, challenging, and only wishing to bring mental pain. Daring steps were taken, charcoal claws driving themselves into the Earth. Muscles tensed up, eyes widened, taking in the sight of Caprus. Forcing herself to make direct eye contact with the short male. A cruel grin played upon her lips, revealing the teeth beneath them.
"Come now, mutt." Dust began, continuing to insult and strike down Caprus at all costs. "You're in our land, you've got no where to run." This was the truth, if anyone knew the territory it would be Dust. It seemed a clash of fangs was either about to begin, or wither into more words. Either way, the canine was ready for the dance of demise. Then, the words left her lips, cruel words that would allow the terror to begin. "Make him a meal for the birds." So much for last chances, it would appear. As she gave Blast permission to strike, Dust turned her back to Caprus, walking back towards Fetter.

Blast made a rather menacing laugh and eagerly stalked around Caprus, waiting for the right moment to strike. He loved his job...the insults...the fighting...the blood. Step after step, his black leg and paw hit the ground with tension. Tension...he could almost smell it in the air.
Adrenaline ran through Blast's veins as he inspected the rather small wolf with a big mouth. Blast grinned as well, revealing his steroid-caused canines. They were very long, a good three inches. For some reason, they did not stick out of him mouth. They were sharp and deadly, and thirsted for the feeling of flesh on tooth.

Fetter watched all this, she eyed the great black bird. She did not fear black birds, but respected them as being something like herself. Seers. She ate them only if she found one dead, in respect for the dead's ability. She wanted to gain their knowing. Dust was backing towards her and her amber eyes turned once more to the fight beginning. Without turning her sight from the thickening air she says to Dust "Fetter thanks ye Lady Master. For a heart so fettered and so bound ye can have one. Fetter sees the blood beat there." She reaches her nose forward and pokes Dust by her shoulder, where a beating heart resides. "But ice is warm as to you. Take such pride, such pride." she says, meaning mostly that while Dust has a heart she keeps it in a jar, and uses it just enough to keep it alive. Else wise, she is all brain, and should be proud of it.

Her large, black ears perk up as she listened to Fetter ramble on. It took her a moment to decipher what Fetter was talking about, and even then it felt like she hadn't gotten to the exact message. Nevertheless, Dust gave Fetter a smirk and nodded in understanding. "You're lucky you're so-" The canine tried to think of a word, it was hard to sum the fox up. "Interesting." She finally said, not once looking at the fox as she spoke.
"You're like some sort of pet, who moves freely." She mused, a slight chuckle escaping her muzzle. That was probably the closest thing to good, Fetter was ever going to get with Dust. Never a friend, but not a pawn either. That seemed to be how Dust worked, it had kept her alive and would most likely be the thing she'd take to the grave. "Lucky, lucky fox."

Fetter now did blink at her, head cocked off to the side, brown and green face set in a knowing way "Ah, Fetter is as she is Lady Master, that is true. She listens and learns." She looked up at the raven and jumped a little to point "As a bird does fly and see it all from her point of view, so does Fetter feel it all, Earth touches as feathers soar." She kneads the ground with little white paws. Her face set. Her seeing is different from the old raven, she is younger, though not by many years. She's wandered hither and tither before coming here, and knows a lot about lives outside the wolves in the Valley here.

"I find it strange, that one such as yourself is safe amongst wolves such as us." Dust continued on, it was strange for the creature to manage a civil conversation. Not a threat nor insult had been thrown towards the fox, not a single one. Dust just sat there, in the presence of this rhyming creature who confused her to no end. But in a way, also made total sense. Fetter seemed to be Dust's walking contradiction.
"Maybe you are wise, or maybe just foolish." The wolf mused, taking a side glance at Fetter, to see how the fox would react.

Fetter batted a rock back and forth for a bit, listening and looked at her, spreading her muzzle in a foxy grin "Lady Master, Fetter will always be a fool for the world, because she will never know everything, but Fetter is wise in what she does know." she nods at her own words and continued "Time will turn, we each will learn, some will wither, some will churn. Fetter watches, Fetter knows, Fetter sees through doors we close." she jumps with her front feet, smacking the ground, as though knocking. She looks at Dust right after "Fetter likes the Lady Master Dusted one." she states.

When Fetter had hopped up, Dust tensed, only to chuckle at herself. Fetter was no threat, not in the slightest, the fox didn't appear to be a violent type. Listening as Fetter spun her web of rhymes to Dust, who whole heartedly enjoyed them, she nodded. Her head tilted to the side, rising to her paws and beginning to circle the vixen.
"It's good to know, little fox." Dust said, having taken a slight liking to the fox herself. It was easy to see why the fox wasn't in harm's way. A butterfly floated by, the disgusting thing. Dust shot straight upwards, powerful back legs sending her skywards. A snap of jaws and the canine dropped back to Earth, butterfly wings sticking out. Mangled and lifeless, it plopped to the ground where her gaze rested upon it. "Bothersome little things." She mumbled, taking a swipe at it, watching it move only slightly. "I'm curious, fox, your kind doesn't wander in packs- do they?" It wasn't often the creature was able to get a lesson on foxes as they proved to be skittish creatures, but it was just for them to be so.

She rolled her head to follow Dust's movements, Yellow eyes sharply watching "Yes Lady Master, Vulpine are solitary creatures." She had watched Dust jump and was impressed by the height, it did show some in her eyes, which glinted with intelligence uncontrolled. "Though Family joins but for family time." She looks around as though looking for something now but not seeing it sighs just softly. "Fetter's sister dead, Fetter's bonds are gone. There is no Fetter for Fetter." she says to Dust. She means that her family is broken apart, so there was nothing keeping her anywhere near where she first came from.

While the story was sad, Dust didn't seem to show compassion for the fox. Not a single tear to shed nor a single kind word to give, just a blank expression to stare. Blinking, it's an odd silence between the two, not terribly awkward but not easing. "I see, but that is how life is." She answered, in the same tone she had as she always answered Fetter in. A tone that is nuetral, showing no traces of sorrow nor hatred.
It's seems to be as close to friendly as Dust gets, she does not need to charm Fetter. For the fox has nothing that Dust can benefit from besides entertainment and knowledge. "Don't you have- a pet? You spoke earlier of." She spoke of Nero, recalling the name as one of her own pack. So, the vixen had ties to the pack that went as far back as the male. It was interesting, something Dust would slowly find her way to figuiring out through questions and answers.

Fetter nodded "Life goes on, and that is true, it's what brought me here, it's what brought you." Her eyes checked the males who were staring one another down again, to see them bristled and angry. Life indeed goes round and round. At the mention of a pet Fetter for once has a change of face more dramatic. "Tcha, nora Pet. The Moonnight, Fetter's kit-pup, yes? Fetter watches him grow, the Nero?" she's not use to calling others by their proper names, though she does use it now and then, mostly she describes by natural occurrences in nature.

A long camouflaged line slithered through the leave in the dead forest. It's long. black tongue flicked in and out constantly. The smell of his owner Dust laid ahead, along with many others. His peach-tinted rattle made a slight rattle, warning those ahead that he was near. The snake named Drako, fierce as a dragon, slithered into the opening where the wolves, raven, and fox stood. He shook his rattler harder then stopped. Ignoring the fact that a tasty fox stood near his master, Drako slid up onto Dust's shoulder. "Sssssory that thisssss one isss late. Thisssss one wasss ssspying on Crosss Roadsss Pack."

"Nero, yes, you watched him grow?" Dust questions, she hadn't gauged just exactly how old Fetter truly was. Batting away at the still butterfly, it continued to move slightly with each nudge every so often skidding across the ground before being pulled back towards the creature. "That seems strange, but I know little of Nero." She finished, for it was the truth. Dust wasn't often around the male nor did he rarely appear.
On the rare chance he did, it seemed the canine took little notice of the male. Her head then snapped to the males once more, ears set forward. Listening to Blast move around, the tense air gave Dust slight surges of adrenaline.

Fetter began to answer "Fetter found the black Nero, and-" but her sentence cut short as she let out a burst of chatters, and danced away from the incoming, rattling serpent. She was fretted by it and said as much "TCHA!Poisondeath!scaleddeath!" Her agitation turned into a weird dance, as she flicked from paw to paw in alert. She stopped though as it spoke. "It speaks to Lady Master?" She inquired, then started forward careful. She was afraid of snakes.
