Lost and Slightly Frustrated ( Open )

Solstice frowned at the ground as she slowly walked around.Her adventure and search for family has led her to a new territory. She lifted her head and gazed around at the surroundings, taking all in as she slowly padded forward. Solstice wagged her tail happily as she found the thing she had been looking for recently, a nice clean river. She quickly padded up to its banks and started to lap up the cooling liquid.

Solstice, once satisfied, lifted her head and licked her lips while looking around the area. Her nose twitched as she could scent two different packs, one on each side. She tilted her head before suddenly realizing the proper thing for a loner such as herself to do. Lifting her muzzle to the sky she let out a long, calm howl letting those around her know that she was in the land. After all she didn't want to make anyone angry by intruding.

ooc: *chuckles* Well, I had started something with Nero, but she has not been on in a few days and I'd like to play him more. Nero's personality appeals to me today.

Black uneven ears flicked around, followed by eyes of such plain brown. The rest of the head followed, a sharp black muzzle, white chin and throat which swelled as he drew breath, determining what side had made the call. It was an announcement though, not a summons nor challenge.
It was close...close enough to bother himself with it. Besides, Fetter tended to gravitate to noise, he may find her there. Black paws, black claws, easy stride. He surfaces from the tree line at a careful lope though and stops at the shore line. There he stands on Shadow Hive land. He raises his angular head and tilts it a little, his mouth opening the tiniest bit to take in the scent better. He holds himself with pride and self assurance.
"Who are you." he says in a manner that is neither question nor demand but both, with a hint of rusty politeness. It's as though he's not use to meeting new people but is willing to give it a go.

With a flick of white ears Solstice turned and faced the wolf that suddenly stood before her. She looked him over and with a slight hint of worry she started to stutter. " I..... I.... I'm Solstice." She finally managed to blurt out. She gazed at the wolf, one of his ears was missing a tip, his pelt was a deep shade of black. She gazed into his eyes shortly before looking at the ground. She never knew why she was always this way, and only to males too. " Wh.... who are you?" She asked as politely as she would allow herself.

His ears flick back just a moment. He's considering answering her question or not, but sees no reason not to. Head high and tail curled over his back Nero states with a pretentious tone "I am Nero, a guard of the Shadow Hive."
The white of his chin and chest stands out stark, and as he shifts slightly, never standing fully still the bottom of his tail, curled a bit over his back, also is white, like a hidden goodness in the dark. "Why do you stutter? Do you have a condition?" it was attempted politeness, but under it was the 'if you're afflicted perhaps I should kill you.'

In truth he was considering just killing her, so that he could see the insides of their kind better. While each being has the same insides...mostly...they are arranged different and he would like to know wolven anatomy better.

She looked up at him and tilted her head. " I... I'm not sure, I doubt I'm sick or anything..." She said in an almost abnormally quiet tone. " I just have a habit of talking like this when I'm around males. she added quickly before looking down at the water. For awhile she just stood there watching a fish swim in circles, but then she randomly looked up and smiled. " Do you like fish?" she asked innocently.

His eyes sharpen as she tells him the trouble with her talking. It's either a lie and she's nervous because there are others to attack him, or it;s the truth. He looks around, shoulders tense, waiting.

He deliberates her words, weighing them as he stares at her, making no pretense of looking anywhere else. He clicks his teeth and starts forward cautiously, as she's fallen silent. He checks his stalk because she speaks again, an addled and confusing question to him.
"Fish?" the haughty tone is gone, replaced with confusion, though his voice is still a rich one, well bred.

"I suppose I do?" he eyes her cautiously, what game is she playing? He's not attacked her yet, so he is interested.

" Interesting creatures are they not?" She says calmly, well aware of his approach. " Their minds are so small yet they do, and know so much. Did you know that some fish even go back to the exact same spot for breed as they were born in? Makes for easy fishing." She says before her head flashes into the water and comes back up dripping wet and a fish flopping about in her jaws.

The fur along the edge of his spine ripples and stands on end. She is more dangerous then she plays. He admires a foe who can play that game, but admiration will get you killed with little caution.

"And yet for their collective intelligence still so many die." he says in his velvet voice, the soft, calling voice to lull. "Eaten, so many, without fulfilling their own purpose." he finishes, still wary of her he does not come any closer than four feet and remains standing, still his shoulders tense.

Solstice looked at him before tossing the fish in front of him. " I never said they were smart, I said they know a lot. Most of knowing is remembering. She said quietly. She watched him for a bit before sitting and nodding her head" Eat, I am no threat to you." She said calmly

He bares his teeth at her in hostility now "Impudence." he says between his teeth before snapping them together. It angers him, a wolf of strict pack moral to have this outsider defile his home.

"You assume a lot to kill fish in our river. We don't accept outsiders without good use for us." he bits his tongue in sending her across the way to Cross Roads, just what they need, more wolves. He is standing at attention, the furr on his neck and back on end. Her words next best be wise, for he will attack her.

" But don't you see?" She says tilting her head. " Even if I kill one more will come in its place... That fish laying dead at your feet is one of those fish I was talking about, it was waiting to die for it had completed its mission." Solstice watched Nero, taking note of his hostility. " You can attack me if you want, try to kill me even, you may or may not succeed. For you see I have a mission to complete to and I will be more than happy to die when I do complete it." She said calmly. Her eyes showed no fear, through her words may hinted towards it. Solstice merely sat there, not showing any signs of hostility or dominance. She knew she stood on his land, but couldn't help but to try to teach this wolf something new before he tore her to shreds.

Nero backed a step, his teeth still bared but he licked his lips, confusion, hostility, and conflict dance in his brown eyes. "Mission?" he finally asked from his crouched position. "Are you a seer? What are you?" the suspicion returns full.

Dust would perhaps want to meet a seer, but a stranger... He was not sure what to do now, part of him would kill her to be done with it, but there is this look on her face. to compare would be like trying to shoot a nun while she's in prayer. At least that's how it would be for Nero.

Pride was lurking around when he noticed Solstice. Interested in meeting the wolf, and also believing everyone should know him, Pride shot down into a tree above the two wolves. "Who are you two?" he asked, realizing he did not know either of them.
