Looking to Zaria Velkan laughed, patting her gently on the head. "Do not fret Zaria, you shall have a chance the next time." His green eyes turned to krimorel and he smiled, glad that they were both successful in some way. "At least we have something now to bring back for both us and Estel if she is yet to live." Saying this made the sadness erupted into Velkan's mind and eyes all over again. Standing up he gave his hand out to Krismorel, offering polite assistance to stand.

Taking his hand, Krismorel slowly rose to her feet. As soon as she stood, her arms wrapped tightly around him. Her eyes locked with his as worry flashed in them, followed by sorrow. "I'm just as worried for Estel as you, Velkan. But please don't act so down, at least not in front of me." She placed her head under his, hugging tighter. A small smile crept onto her face, feeling nothing but bliss and comfort. "I swear to you she will survive. I have a feeling she will."

The high elf was startled by Krismorel's hug, but eagerly gave one back to her, his arms tight around her back. "I believe so too Krismorel...nîn meleth (my love). If only worry did not fill my heart. Why are elves so attached to animals, for it saddens many greatly to feel their pain." Hugging a tight bit harder he then released, holding Krismorel's arms as he stared into her eyes with his green eyes.

Krismorel stared into his eyes, her own gleaming in some happiness and sorrow combined. Her hands clutched his shoulders slightly as she was a lips length away from him. "Worry wouldn't have to fill your heart. I know soon it will be replaced with happiness." She paused a small moment, "Perhaps of seeing Estel okay? I know it isn't likely, but maybe within a while she could even fly? We must rely on hope and patience with her, and in time we will see the outcome."

Nodding his head in agreement the high elf slung his bow over his shoulder and looked back at Krismorel, his eyes filled with some happiness now. reaching his smooth hand to her cheek Velkan brought his mouth towards her ear and murmured, "Thank you Krismorel, for if you were not here I would be just like the others." with that he brought his soft lips against hers, brushing softly against them. The high elf released himself from his love and headed to the two animals of which they just killed, jumping over some slick rocks with ease. Once returning he smiled once more at Krismorel and began to walk to camp.

Krismorel blinked at him in surprise, dearly wanting to lean forward when their lips were so close together. Regret took hold of her for but a moment before she grabbed her quiver and bow, following him with a smile. Zaria twitched her tail a few times before launching herself after them, her stomach giving a small growl as she realized how hungry she herself was.

By the time the two elves returned to camp the stars were beginning to show their greatness. Velkan had cleaned the rabbit and weasel some time ago, dumping the innards and skin away from the camp. He placed them upon a platter, stripping a few pieces of meat for Estel. He walked over to the elder's caravan and he exited it with the falcon perched upon his shoulder, bandages wrapped around the bird's wing. Green eyes glowing full of happiness, the elder looked to Velkan and said, "She was close to the brink of death, but no longer. She is healthy and well and has been awaiting the arrival of her saviors."
Giving the falcon to Velkan, he re-entered his caravan and did not speak anymore. Estel sat upon her knew master's arm, her head cocked sideways as her brown eyes stared into his green ones. He gentles petted her chest, feeling the warmth and softness of what once was blood soaked feathers. She was hungry, and eagerly ate the strips of rabbit meat that Velkan offered her.

Krismorel smiled at Estel, glad the raptor was alright. She kept her distance away from them, sliding down a nearby tree and sighing in content. Zaria slowly walked over to her master, seeing how tired she was and so she laid herself over her Master's lap. Krismorel smiled and stroked her gentle beast's back slightly as her eyes began to slide closed. Her green cloak engulfed her body a small bit as she began to doze.

Velkan looked over to his love Krismorel, but she was beginning to fall into a dep slumber. Smiling to himself, Velkan walked over to her and placed Estel upon a high branch. She swayed for a brief moment, gaining her balance but then was fine.
Attempting to make no noise as he went to sit upon the ground next to Krismorel, the high elf brought his hood up to cover his green eyes and long elf ears. With his hand he pulled her head upon his shoulder, what he thought was much more comfortable. Velkan then gazed at the stars for brief moment and slowly began to daze as well.

Zaria looked up to Velkan before glancing at the bird, flicking her tail from side to side as she imagined pawing at the small creature. Soon, she placed her head on her Master's stomach and closed her eyes as her fur bristled. The days - and she could tell - were slowly beginning to grow colder within every night. Flattening her ears against her head, the blue glow from the creature began to dim as she fell into the dream world. Krismorel opened an eye, seeing Velkan beside her. Slowly, she inched closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder as her eye closed. Relaxing, it wasn't soon after until she fell asleep.

Velkan was awakened by the sound of unfamiliar voices. They did not speak Elvin nor did they speak in ways of peace but more of violence. Shaking Kris he eagerly asked her to awake, shrugging Zaria as well. Hey glanced up to Estel and motioned for her to stay in place, for whoever was invading their camp they were hostile. Unsheathing his sword the high elf protectively stood over Krismorel until she would awake, for he would allow nothing to happen to the one he love, even if it meant death itself.

Krismorel groaned in reluctance at his shakes, but eventually she opened her eyes. Exhausted, she looked up and widened her eyes to see his sword unsheathed. "What is it..?" She asked in a low murmur, her voice worried. Slowly, she rose to her feet with Zaria growling already with her fur bristled. Krismorel bent back down and picked up her bow and quiver, already fitting an arrow to the string of her bow.

"Someone is coming, men most likely." Looking around the high elf noticed no sign from any of the others attempting to prepare themselves. Eyes wide with fear for his people Velkan looks to Krismorel. "I shall go see what it is, for they are not too far off. You must stay here and protect our people nîn meleth. I shall be back, I promise." With this the high elf leaned towards his love and kissed her passionately on the lips as if this would be thier last good bye. Bringing his face back he hugged tightly then ran into the woods, searching for whatever threatened his people.

Krismorel widened her eyes at his kiss, and softly returned it for the time she could before he pulled away. She grabbed her arm with her hand and gave a tight squeeze, "Nîn meleth," she choked out as her voice was below even a murmur. Biting her lip, she dearly wanted to run after him to help. But he told her to stay, something she dearly was reluctant to do. Looking down at Zaria, an idea formed in her mind. Kneeling down, she patted her companion. "Follow Velkan and-" before she could even finish Zaria bolted into the trees where he disappeared to. Smiling slightly, Krismorel then hopped into a tree and set the quiver beside her, bow and arrow in hand and ready. Crouching, her body melded with the shadowed trees as she closed an eye, awaiting her foes.
Zaria dashed through the forest, her eyes narrowed and determined to follow Velkan's scent. He sure was fast, but of course the lithe feline was faster. Like a white, black, and glowed blue blur she sped through the forest. Her eyes glowing with anticipation, for this was to make up the failure and uselessness she had in hunting.

Velkan had arrived to where the voiced where coming from, for it was not hard to know when there were so many men. the high elf was hiding in the bushes, counting the number of men and his chances to overtake them. One two three...that was easy enough. Four five six....now the thought of returning to Krismorel was dimming. Seven eight nine...twelve men. All hope to return to his love was slim to nothing, but he must have hope! Running out of the trees, the elf's white hair flew wildly around his face as did his cloak around his body. The men were startled but soon no-longer were confused.
Velkan was throwing everything he could at the men, over-hand and side strokes with his sword, killing only two of the men so far. A soldier came behind, attempting to sneak upon the high elf but was unsuccessful for in an instant a knife was hanging out of his throat. Throwing all his knives, only two hit soldiers but did not kill them. His massive sword stroke all that he could reach, for now the soldiers knew of the elf's deadly accuracy upon each attack.
Velkan knew he was done for, for now the remaining men, some injured, surrounded him while two had their bows up to him. All of them at once came up to him, and Velkan knowing defeat sunk to his knees. With the hilt of a sword a soldier cracked it against his skull, knocking the high elf unconscious as they began to unarm him.
