Isis stops for a moment, realizing that she is the 'poster child', if you will, of what Solstice had just said. She was tense, and uncomfortable for childish reasons of the fact that a newcomer was present? Pfft... "Apologies..." she said before continuing, as she made eye contact with the white wolf, "Dead? What happened?" She asked with a flicker to her large, round caramel brown ear as she listened up, hoping that a good story was to come, as she then said something else strange... something that she wasn't expecting. //Other pack?// She hadn't been enlightened about this... other pack. No one cared to tell her... but things are also not in her favor for she was just merely Kohen's faux-mate. She did not feel official with Kohen yet, for he hadn't approached her about the situation as of yet. Putting this aside, she listened to Solstice in hopes of an explanation.

Solstice sat down and nodded her head. " Story time then? Fine fine, First off you should know that I am a Lore- Keeper, so stories are no problem for me. Secondly, the other pack is across the river form this one. From my understanding they don't get along very well..... They are more power and knowledge hunger. Some of them are immensely dangerous and wont hesitate to kill. I was exploring their area and came across a very handsome male by the name of Nero. He and I traveled together for a few days, that is until his Alpha found us...." She said while looking down at the ground sadly as she spoke of Nero. " After a wonderful conversation with her... I... tried to kill myself.. I didn't want Nero to have to kill me... So I tried to do it myself..."She said with a small flick of her tail.
Solstice flicked her ears and looked up at Isis with a big smile. " So that is in short how I came to be here." She finished looking as if nothing bothered her in the slightest.

Lhucky over hears the white female speaking, and grows concerned. Sure, he hadn't met this female before... but someone wishing to kill themselves or someone wishing to kill another is not the game he plays...ever. "Solstice. Are you alright?" he asks, knowing that Raissa was uncomfortable with his previous statement with him calling her his 'mate' and all. He knew she objected since she always seemed to anyways, but that's yet another thing he rather enjoyed about her. The male allowed his mind to wander quite enough, for his focus was now on Solstice, as she spoke of killing. "Where is this.. pack you speak of?" he asks, for they peak his curiosity... but not in a good way. He fears such wolves. ---- Isis too, was feeling a little strange about this situation but kept quiet about the whole death thing. "You're a Lore-Keeper?" she asked, keeping light of the situation at hand as she nuzzled up to Kohen gently before speaking once more, "I respect Lore-Keepers, greatly. Stories are what keep our past alive, and our present exciting." she said, nodding her head a bit to Solstice as she bravely shared her story.

" The pack is the the way a bit I suppose, I know its across the lake and river anyway." She said in reply to Lhucky. " And ya, I'm fine." She added on quickly as she stared off towards wheres she came from. Her mind wandered greatly as she thought of the other pack, she didn't care much for the pack, but she did care greatly for Nero. All she could hope is that he was ok.

Raissa's head lifts, listening to them. "Shadow Hive." she growls, her mahogany eyes flashing with danger "You were in Shadow Hive-" she voices as she stands up, carefully unfolding from around Sweeny, so as to not wake him. She does not venture away from him however, watching Solstice "You met Alpha Dust, that's the only one there right now. You met border guard Nero, and he did not kill you." Her reasoning is kicking in, and making a line of process, she looks a lot like Nero, only more feminine. "She's not friendly, and he's not either, by your tone you've come to like one of them." she can't tell who, you never know these days which way a tail may flick in regard to gender preference. "If Nero was to kill you, and had not before it's most likely him. By your words you should be dead. They might not believe you are. You will be hunted down, you are dangerous." Her guesses and reasoning are sound to her, and perhaps she is right, at least partly so she can be totally assure. As to the latter half, it was all pure reasoning, and could either be very right or very wrong. Aside though, all of this she smiles and tips her head off the to the side. "Well Solstice, though a dangerous, hunted for Lore-keeper, I like you." she's decided so, after her own reasoning of why this female is a danger to them. Her mind can be most fickle. She sits again, tail brushing across the ground, touching both Sweeny and Lhucky, surprisingly.

" Yeah, possibly... Except Dust was preoccupied with some other loner... She almost killed me herself, but this new wolf intruded so she told Nero to do it. As for them not being friendly, Dust I have no doubt but Nero... Nero was only mean to others... he tried to be mean, but it didn't really last long when he talked to me." She muttered while she tilted her head. " As for liking me, that is good news... through I don't know for how long that will last, since I will most likely leave soon." She added with a happy flick of her tail.

A slight growl rumbled in his own throat at the sound of Shadow Hive, he'd come acorss Dust once, and it unpleasant in every way possible. "For something so small, there's alot of- I'm not even sure." Kohen said with a slight grin, looking to Isis and rubbing his head into her neck softly. His tail flicked and twitched wildly as he listened to Solstice. It was interesting, he'd never met a Lore-Keeper before, she must have so much to tell.
Not his head, he agreed, Shadow Hive would not be happy to see her life wasn't ended. "I suggest you stay away from Shadow Hive and don't go back." The male warned, shaking his head. Although, he had taken notice of her tone, when speaking about the particular member, but Kohen decided she might need to even forget about him. Looking to Isis, he swayed a bit before leaning on her, not with his full weight but a good deal.

Solstice tilted her head at the cougar. " I have to go back, as little logic as it sounds. Nero said that the two pack will have to work together soon, when the geese fly in and the guardians arrive with them. From my guesses there will be a meeting with all the Shadow Hive members.. and I want to be there to hear what Dust has to say, and to make sure that Nero is okay." She said slowly as if trying to convince herself. " Sure chances are that I'll die, but maybe I can use this I'm dead thing to my advantage. If I go I won't directly talk to Nero... that would just cause problems that he doesn't need..." She continued with a sigh.
Solstice flicked her tail and looked up at the group, and then gave them all a warm smile. " But enough of that for now, anything else you guys would like to know? Or anything you would like to share with me? I am always up to learning new things to add to my memory." She said while tilting her head much like a puppy would.

Isis wondered to herself about this infamous 'Shadow Hive' they spoke of so... harshly. She hadn't heard of this other pack before, so this was all new. The names "Dust" and "Nero" shot shivers up her spine in fear, for they seemed to be all about killing and putting death upon others. Even her sturdy love interest spoke so coldly about the other pack. Had she gotten herself into a bit of a pickle in this situation? Nevertheless, she was happy right where she was as Kohen rubbed up against her. However, she had a lingering question on her mind... and in a moment's notice she quietly blurted out, "Kohen.... stay with me forever?" she said hoping he'd pick up the hint she was giving him ever so... subtly? No.. it was not subtle at all. But she hoped it would not scare him off.... for then she'd be alone and perhaps satanic wolf meat if she was not careful. --- Lhucky watched as some light chaos unfolded around him when Raissa stood up abruptly at the names of the important members of the Shadow Hive were spoken from Solstice's lips. This seemed to upset her, and he knew exactly why. The Shadow Hive was a terrible place to be, and he was upset that he'd have to join with them for the season as Solstice had mentioned. A low growl emerged his jugular as he then quieted down, holding Sweeny tighter, sure to not wake him.

"It's worse for him, if you go back. I'm sure you know that, but you will anyway." She relaxes some, but still her shoulders are stiff "I won't try to stop you, Solstice, but I will give you warning I hope you will consider. I've lived here in Cross Roads for two years. During those two years I've seen Dust all of three times. During the goose hunts and once down towards here, near my home." Considering Geography, Raissa's den of choice is very very near to being directly across from Nero's but a distance further. They don't know one another, and are not even directly related.
"I was getting a drink from the River, early in the morning, and there she was as I looked up, watching me with hard eyes. She's small in size, but not in her stare, not in her power. Dust is a dangerous beast. She told me something like I'd better watch how far I was from where the main pack resided. It was a threat. I don't know if she would remember me, but she'll not forget a threat, nor a face she intends to see dead. She'll see you dead, mark me. Unless you are useful for her, she'll see you dead." Her words are hard but strait forward. Raissa is not one to beat around the bush, and she won't start now. Taking a seat again, actually closer to Lhucky then before, though maybe this is for Sweeny? Maybe not...

Lhucky's heart dropped, as she spoke of the evil female she'd run into so often. There was something she was hiding, but he did not know what... Shaking his head of this thought, he leaned forward and mistakenly wore his heart on his sleeve once more as he gently nuzzled her tail as she sat close to him. He knew that she had underlying feelings for him... but when they'd surface was a whole other story or series of events he was still waiting upon. His muzzle shifted downward as he spotted his son, still sleeping as he groaned lightly as he dreamed.

The meek words caused his ears to flick and body to tense. "My dear Isis, shouldn't we know each other better? Allow the days to become months?" Kohen asked with worry that she was acting upon impulse. The big cat could not lie, he loved Isis, but he craved to know more about her. The feline isn't uncomfortable, nor will he leave Isis. "I won't leave you, dear, but I wish to know more of you." He croons to her, pink tongue gently going over Isis' cheek.
Cautiously, he allows his tail to lay over hers, stray away, and then come back once more. Kohen only hopes he has not hurt her feelings, "I love you as well, dear Isis, do not underestimate that." Each word is hesitated, not because they're lies, but because Kohen has never had such feelings. "Is that- too bold?" The big cat murmers, glancing at her and then the ground once more.

Isis stopped listening at the word "love". She had waited to hear this word for such a long time... it hurt her heart because he was not connected with her on the same level. She knew he'd always be there for her, but whether they'd breed or have a family was now almost out of reach for her. "I..." she began, before contemplating if she'd finish... "I love you." her words like velvet vomit... coming out so harsh yet soft and smooth. She inhaled deeply, holding it for a moment as his warm tongue ran over her cheek in a loving way. She leaned into him, warm bodies sharing a bond like none other.

Months had gone by, and his parents hadn't really noticed his growth spurt. Yes, he was still small... but his colors began to show somewhat like... Raissa's? Strange, seeing as he's not her real mother, but you know what they say... the more you are around someone the more you tend to look like them. Sweeny was not a pup to pick up anymore, although still smaller than both of his parents he was getting larger. Though, being around closest family does make time fly by, making months seem like mere weeks. One brown eye pry open after the next as his gaze made his parents look like doubles. "Momma? Poppa?" said the now, larger wolf whom was in a slumber. Another caught his attention, and yes, he grew but newcomers always made him cry. Thus, the wailing began. --- Lhucky had been snuggling his pup for some time now, and it was Raissa's turn to deal with this sobbing pup that they were raising together. "Momma, dear." he said, motioning to Sweeny. ((This is Sweeny now. I don't know if it'll just give you a link but yeah... here.)) i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad237/jsullymaz/images.jpg

Raissa chuckled a little, but bit his ear and said sternly "Hush now child, don't fear new faces, fear their intentions." she is close to his face, her mahogany eyes flicker "Remember that always my Sweeny, be polite to new faces, but do not trust them right away. For it can lead to teeth in your back." She won't baby him over much, That's not her nature, nor was it with her first litter and it won't start now. She will teach him him prudence, respect, and survival as best as she knows it. Lhucky will temper any cold nature that Raissa may give off, any of the fridged hostility she gives to new faces normally. He will teach Sweeny the value of persistence and kindness. Soften the hard edges...
She looks around again and considers Solstice, before walking up close to her, looking self assured, but not Alpha Aggressive. She stops about five feet away and turns her head just the smallest bit to the right "What I'd like to know Solstice is what brought you here? Aside from pitching yourself into the river. What has brought you to Break Ridge Valley, we're a bit out of the way." Raissa knows most wander for a reason, she had after all, and never had meant to come this far North...but still...
