Solstice looked at the sky for a bit before looking back at Raissa. " Well to just throw it out there, the guardians sent me, maybe not here directly, but I have been tasked with finding and bringing my brother to justice. I have traveled up this way in an effort to finally stop him, and to confront him. He has wandered around and caused chaos in every aspect of the word. And I have always been there to stop it, and to bring calm." She said without blinking. Solstice had worked with the guardians since she was a pup, when she was young and had not yet learned all the lessons of Lore-keeping that her pack should have taught her. The guardians took care of her and trained her in the way, to keep the skill alive in at least one more wolf with the ability to pass it on. For it was the Lore-keepers that gave Guardians the edge, they wandered lands learning as much as they could so that they may be meandering libraries.
Solstice eyes glazed over as she thought of what lead her here. " It was so long ago, or at least it feels so, that I last saw my brother.. I had the chance to end it all.. to kill him... but I couldn't and he got away." She said slowly, as if blaming herself for everything bad that had happened. " Now there is a slight chance that I could live a normal life and all I can think about is my brother... And to top it off the Guardians are showing up here, and I have nothing to show for all my work... they will be so disappointed..." Solstice gave a small flick of her tail as she wondered about her past... there was a chunk of her memory missing... from that night, that last night she had a chance at her brother. Ever since then she has only seen glimpses of Akil in the shadows that surround her every day.
But alas Solstice just shook her head and smiled, like she did so well. " But enough about me, it really isn't all that important, everything ill work out in the end. All we have to do is push forward and never look back." She tilted her head and gazed around the crowd. " What about all of you, where did you come from originally, or did you come from here?" She muttered with a warm smile and a casual wag of her tail.

So, a game of dodge, just giving bare facts? Well and fine, the young female was doing as she had done, but for what was different reasons. Raissa was nearly six years old, her days of dodge like that were done, she'd play her cards strait forward. She drew a deep breath and let it out slowly. "No, I am not from here. Though I have been here for three years now. This place is my home."
She looks over her shoulder at Lhucky and Sweeny, to see what they would think, particularly Lhucky. As she begins this tale she will look frequently at him from the corner of an eye, her ears flicks between being up and being turned back. Her tail is wrapped around her feet tightly and her shoulders twitch every so often, those are tells of hers, and would happen often when unhappy, or uncertain, nervous or tired. " I came from Kiltuck, further south, I ranged along the mountains further than I ever meant to go. I was dodging, much like you are in some ways. I was running, but I was running away. My pack was a small one, but close knit, not like Cross Roads, but not like Shadow Hive either. I was very best friends with the Alpha pup of the Alpha Litter. He would be the Alpha after his father, unless someone challenged him. This male though, Kiros by name, was kindly, but strong willed and firm of heart. You could almost see him wearing it in his shoulder. As such he was. Kiros was my partner in crime when we were old enough to wander. I fell in love with him, and I told him so. I believed he felt the same, the way he acted with me. "We were growing apart though, in little ways I'd not seen then. He was being trained by his father, sometimes his mother. They liked me, my parents were their Betas, and I the youngest, for I had but one sibling, a sister. I believed I was to be the New Alpha Female. I did not want it, but I did want him, so I had told him, I loved him..." Her eyes flick to Lhucky watching him a moment, her mouth slightly parted. 'This is why, will you understand that, this is why I can't simply say I will be yours? Why I won't just be your mate...this is why...' she thought at him, as though to pierce his skull with her unspoken words. She continues... "I found him one day, when I was doing some lone hunting, practice I suppose, though we were both over a year old now, no need to really practice. But it lead me to find him, tied with a female of lower rank, older than us by a year. How could I have been blinded? I am Raissa, I'm a thinker. I was blinded by love and being new to it. That was his mate, he'd chosen, and lead me on. I took a mate with a much older male, and bore his pups, my first litter. But I lost him to the winter hunters, and I lost two of my pups. The other two survived still. I watched them grow, almost from without, and watched my old love take Alpha Male, with his mate. I felt sick inside, and I knew it was going to kill me early to continue to brood, so, I left. I've not gone back, I walked until I found this place, and here I've been. I don't know where my pups are, if they have pups now. I don't know if Kiros is still Alpha, I don't care. Kiltuck is history to me, Cross Roads is my present."
Finishing this explanation she stands and gets a drink of water, asking a pardon as she does this. Sated, she comes back to sitting about the same distance away from Solstice, "I have provided details, Lore-keeper, a story for a story. What is wrong with your brother." She'll play at questions all day if you let her. Raissa loves this game.

Solstice merely nodded at her story, taking it all in.. fact after fact. She flicked her tail with a smile as the question reached her ears. " I don't know for sure... we... went through a tragic event... and HE just snapped..." She said sadly as she gazed at the ground. For awhile she just stared at a blade of grass before looking up and tilting her head. " He is suffering, so he makes others suffer. Then I come in and fix it... it is like agame to him, the causulties are nothing to him. All the lives lost... just because he can't control himself.." She added on while looking at the others silently.

Raissa watches her, all the little movements, twitches, and her breathing. Unlike Nero she does not understand the body well, but she is a female, and aware of the body language of others. She's not sensitive to their feelings, lord knows Raissa has things to work on regarding that.
"If it bothers you to tell a tale to all present-" she draws close, and drops her voice, a private and most intimate whisper between two "-I will listen, I will not judge, and nor will I speak of it to others. I am a keeper of secrets, not a teller of tales." She dips her head off to the left and backs away again. It would be Solstice's choice to tell what she can recall of herself, Raissa will only ask questions until she can think of nothing more. 'Ware Solstice, Raissa likes you, because you are interesting, but she will riddle you out the best she can.

Solstice smiled and stood. " My past will have to be saved for another time. I feel it is necessary to move on, I must go now if I hope to get into their pack lands before they start patrols again... I don't know how long it has been but I feel that in a few days time there will be a meeting, and I must be there.. Unseen yes, but i want to remember everything that is said... and maybe.." She let the sentence trail off as her hopeful eyes gazed towards the Shadow-hive pack lands. Solstice turned and smiled to the others. " Thank you all for your time, and effort. Maybe I shall see you again in the near future." She said slowly before turning and starting to walk a long the river's edge... to be seen again? Who knows...

Lhucky couldn't help but grow curious about Raissa's words as her gaze kept darting back to his person. A lump grew in his throat as if he were to grow upset at any moment over her story about how she had already taken a mate, bore his pups and became Alphess. Growing uncomfortable, he shifted a bit and cleared his throat as she spoke about these things that he'd wanted for himself all these years. He had it good once, and he lost it once Baka deserted him. Though, he was extremely lucky to find Sweeny again, and even more lucky that Raissa had found him and cared for the pup that his old mate had left behind as well as himself. Raissa's gaze met his once more as the last words poured out of her mouth and he rose, turning to Sweeny batting at his muzzle a bit. Lhucky cocked his head to the side as he then noticed that his pup was.... growing like a weed! Goodness, had he been neglecting his fatherly duties? Yes, he felt bad... but couldn't help remembering that he too grew just as rapidly as he did at that age... and during the season of Autumn. His tail swished impatiently, yet softly as he awaited his... well, mother of his pup. In Lhucky's eyes, she was his mate... but now he was not sure. ---- Sweeny was not paying attention for he had ventured off toward the river to parch his throat as his gray frame seemingly matched Raissa's in one way, and Lhucky's in others. He was also picking up some of his mother's attitudes along the way. Though not present, they're very much there. His tail thrashed about, as he turned only to find his Poppa's paw swiping the side of his head in a playful sort of way as he seemingly grew upset at something. Sweeny would never ask why his Poppa was upset... but he was growing curious. Rump in the air, he began to growl lightly at Lhucky, seeing if he'd respond... or perhaps Raissa would?

She nodded to Solstice, so be it then. She'd land what she wanted in time, no need to press, bad blood...
She looked at Lhucky now, turning to look at him directly, her expression was pained, and even labored, that took some effort to say and turn to him. What was that face he had? He looked hurt, to her, but she could not be sure. "Lhucky...do you understand...I was slighted, betrayed." her voice is tender, more emotional than she's yet shown. "Understand, I /can't/ be hurt again." she shut up, and shut down like she had earlier. Her Mahogany eyes glaze, then sharpen. She meant can't as in it would ruin her beyond repair. Not can't as in she is stone hearted, though she is close to that. She comes close to him, and sits. She's closer to him then she had been to Solstice, perhaps three feet away, a leaning distance. "Kiros was my Alpha, but he was my best friend first and to be betrayed by your best friend, whom you love, who you thought loved you in return does a deep damage. I almost was fooled to the end by him." She reveals this in her stiff speech, that she nearly had mated with him, and would be stuck there with him as some kind of mistress, some toy, while he and his chosen mate ruled. She would never be someone's second, nor someone's toy.

Lhucky sighed lightly, for he could only dream of what she'd gone through. Peppered gray ears sink to his skull as he inched closer to her for comfort before he spoke in a gentle tone. "Raissa, my love. You have no worries with these words and thoughts. I understand your concerns... but I am not a male like that and in my eyes... you're a queen." he said, deep brown eyes shifting to the cold ground the leaves had settled upon. Knowing well that he could say the wrong things at the wrong time, he continued, "I'd never hurt you. I do hope you trust me." he said as his gaze returned to her mahogany one as he leaned towards her and tenderly licked her muzzle... lovingly. He had actually seen her as his mate, but not one to control. One to raise a pup together and one that he could potentially mate with and raise a family of THEIR OWN. No offense to his eldest pup, Sweeny but he was not Raissa's biological pup in the first place. His tail began to wag ever so lightly as he drew himself closer to her until they were nearly whisker to whisker as his breath became hers.

Raissa listened to him, something of a wince crossing her face, and she bunched her shoulders. A queen? she was no queen, not fit for a title as that, but she'd not slight him his views, undeserved as they are. Being touched made her draw back further, but she did not snap at him this time, only squinted a glare. It was a change, if slight.
"You've not lost what you've not gained. And what you have you've not proven to be haphazardly given." What she's said is twisty but boils down to, she'll not hate him or discredit him for who he is, but what trust she HAS given him so far has not been threatened, which is good. Her eyes flick to Sweeny. Does she know what he's thinking? It's hard to call that one. "I'm sorry." she says blunt, flat.

"Why are you so afraid to love... it's me. I would not harm you." he whispered to her as he inched forward and lightly nuzzled her neck with his gray peppered muzzle knowing it'd overstep her boundaries. Though he was not afraid of this anymore, he did not want to overwhelm her. Slowly he backed away from her to let her breathe. "I will never do you wrong... and I will appreciate you until the day we both dissolve into this earth.... together." he said, emphasizing the word 'together' for he most certainly meant it. He paused as he looked into Raissa's eyes, almost into her soul as his chest fluttered with the butterflies. Had he...? Damn.... Lhucky had fallen for Raissa and he could only keep doing what he was doing and love her like he had been to get his way in the end. After all... they were raising a pup together. ---- Sweeny relaxed a bit when his Momma had apologized for not playing with him. He had only wished that he'd found a new friend to play with... perhaps a pup somewhat near his age? All the wolves present are those of older ages. His tail wagged lightly as he spoke in a gentle tone, "Its ok, Momma." he then plopped himself down upon the ground and sighed as his brown eyes stay glued upon his Momma & Poppa in his immediate surroundings.

She nods, and looks away, at nothing in particular "I...I know you won't hurt me, not intentionally. I know that, I can fee it but..." She drops her head to her chest, chin resting over her heart she closes her eyes "but here I still don't grasp that." It's a tender whisper, raw with frail truth. Part of her, a big big part of her, does like him, and loves Sweeny and can't see Sweeny being how he is, if Lhucky was nothing but good. It's that hole in her heart hurt when she was young by the one male she did trust above everyone. "I do like you, very much Lhucky, I just can't say l- I just can't say that word...to you, right now." She lifts her muzzle, and licks the side of her face a few times.

The large gray male knew just what she was saying, and was a bit disappointed with the outcome of the genuine conversation he was trying to have with her. His ears sulked a bit, but tried not to look too upset in front of Sweeny. A father's gotta be strong, and this.... was not in the least. "I understand." he said, tone a bit lower than usual. If Raissa knew better, she'd read into him. He knew in a way, that he'd 'win' her love over and they'd finally be happy. Perhaps start a family of their own? He shook the thought from his head and looked into her eyes... giving her THAT look. Nothing serious, or definite... but if those thoughts could be transferred into her mind... they would be in that instant.
